Introduction: Crohn's disease (CD) varies by location, potentially affecting therapy efficacy and surgery risk, although research on this topic is conflicting. This study aims to investigate the independent association between CD location and therapeutic patterns.
Methods: We analyzed patients with CD diagnosed from January 2005 to May 2023 registered in the nationwide ENEIDA registry.

Background: Major hepatectomy in perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (pCCA) patients with a small future liver remnant (FLR) risks posthepatectomy liver failure (PHLF). This study examines combined portal and hepatic vein embolisation (PVE/HVE) to increase preoperative FLR volume and potentially decrease PHLF rates.
Methods: In this retrospective, multicentre, observational study, data was collected from centres affiliated with the DRAGON Trials Collaborative and the EuroLVD registry.

Introduction: In patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) secondary to intracranial large vessel occlusion, optimal blood pressure (BP) management following endovascular treatment (EVT) has not yet been established. The randomized trial on Hemodynamic Optimization of Cerebral Perfusion after Successful Endovascular Therapy in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke (HOPE) (clinicaltrials.gov id: NCT04892511) aims to demonstrate whether hemodynamic optimization using different systolic BP targets following EVT according to the degree of final recanalization, is more effective than currently recommended BP management in improving functional outcomes of patients with AIS.

Background And Objectives: The 2023 criteria for myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) perform well in adults but have not been assessed in children.
Methods: This prospective observational nationwide study includes children and adults with demyelinating syndromes or encephalitis, whose serum or CSF was found MOG-immunoglobulin G (IgG) positive at Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer-Hospital Clínic of Barcelona (Spain). Exclusion criteria were lack of clinical information and follow-up <1 year, and serum unavailable for antibody testing.

Objectives: Lung Cancer (LC) is a multifactorial disease for which the role of genetic susceptibility has become increasingly relevant. Our aim was to use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze differences between patients with LC based on family history of cancer (FHC).
Materials And Methods: From August 2016 to June 2020 clinical information was obtained from Thoracic Tumors Registry (TTR), a nationwide database sponsored by the Spanish Lung Cancer Group.

Background: The use of technological innovations in ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) care networks has been shown to be effective in improving information flow and coordination, and thus reducing the time to reperfusion. We developed a smartphone application called ODISEA to improve our STEMI care network and evaluated the results of its use.
Method: Quasi-experimental study that compared the outcomes of STEMI suspected patients with an alert and indication for transfer to a cath lab during a previous period and a period in which the ODISEA APP was used.

Background: Iadademstat is a potent, selective, oral inhibitor of both the enzymatic and scaffolding activities of the transcriptional repressor lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1; also known as KDM1A) that showed promising early activity and safety in a phase 1 trial and strong preclinical synergy with azacitidine in acute myeloid leukaemia cell lines. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the combination of iadademstat and azacitidine for the treatment of adult patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukaemia.
Methods: The open-label, phase 2a, dose-finding ALICE study was conducted at six hospitals in Spain and enrolled patients aged 18 years or older with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukaemia not eligible for intensive chemotherapy and an ECOG performance status of 0-2.

Background & Aims: The impact of patient sex on the presentation of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been poorly evaluated. Our aims were to assess potential disparities in IBD phenotype and progression between sexes.
Methods: We performed an observational multicenter study that included patients with Crohn's disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis from the Spanish Estudio Nacional en Enfermedad Inflamatoria intestinal sobre Determinantes genéticos y Ambientales registry.

Immune dysfunction in patients with MM affects both the innate and adaptive immune system. Molecules involved in the immune response pathways are essential to determine the ability of cancer cells to escape from the immune system surveillance. However, few data are available concerning the role of immune checkpoint molecules in predicting the myeloma control and immunological scape as mechanism of disease progression.

Limited nutrient supply to the fetus results in physiologic and metabolic adaptations that have unfavorable consequences in the offspring. In a swine animal model, we aimed to study the effects of gestational caloric restriction and early postnatal metformin administration on offspring's adipose tissue epigenetics and their association with morphometric and metabolic variables. Sows were either underfed (30% restriction of total food) or kept under standard diet during gestation, and piglets were randomly assigned at birth to receive metformin (n = 16 per group) or vehicle treatment (n = 16 per group) throughout lactation.

Introduction: Cardiogenic shock is associated with high in-hospital morbidity and mortality. Improvements in this care process could lead to better outcomes.
Methods: This retrospective study of patients with cardiogenic shock compared two periods: no specific program to address cardiogenic shock and implementation of a cardiogenic shock program.

Introduction: Esophageal involvement in high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma is a rare phenomenon when advanced systemic disease is detected. Dysphagia is the most common guide symptom. However, diagnosis is often delayed due to its submucosal process that is not early seen in endoscopic initial evaluation, while computerized tomography (CT) scan usually shows concentric thickening of the esophageal layers and gives the suspected diagnosis.

Background: The burden of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains high in Spain, with lung cancer accounting for 20% of cancer-related deaths annually. Programs such as the Spanish Thoracic Tumour Registry (TTR) and the global I-O Optimise initiative have been developed to observe patients in clinical practice with the aim of improving outcomes. This analysis examined treatment patterns and survival in patients with stage III NSCLC from the TTR.

Introduction: Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is a long-term sequel to pulmonary embolism (PE) whose incidence varies according to different published studies. We have carried out this study to determine its incidence within 2 years after index pulmonary embolism and to study limitations to an early diagnosis.

Background: Reversibility of the diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) lesion means that not all of the DWI lesion represents permanently injured tissue. We investigated DWI reversibility and the association with thrombolysis, reperfusion and functional outcome in patients from the WAKE-UP trial (Efficacy and Safety of Magnetic Resonance Imaging-Based Thrombolysis in Wake-Up Stroke).
Methods: In this retrospective analysis of WAKE-UP, a randomized controlled trial (RCT) between September 2012 and June 2017 in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain and United Kingdom, a convolutional neural network segmented the DWI lesions (b=1000 s/mm) at baseline and follow-up (24 hours).
