Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of preoperative pain neuroscience education (PNE) on pain intensity, kinesiophobia, catastrophizing, and disability in individuals undergoing hip or knee arthroplasty.
Methods: A search was conducted on MEDLINE, CINAHL, Epistemonikos, Scopus, and Web of Science from their inception to March 2023. Two investigators independently assessed the risk of bias with Risk of Bias 2 (ROB2) and Risk of Bias in Non-randomized Studies - of Interventions (ROBINS-I) of the studies, as well as the certainty of the evidence with Grade of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) for pain intensity, catastrophizing, kinesiophobia and disability at one month, three months and six months of follow-up.

The aims were (i) to determine the effects of Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) on sleep disturbances, pain intensity and disability in patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMP), and (ii) to determine the dose-response association between CBT-I dose (total minutes) and improvements in sleep disorders, pain intensity and disability in patients with CMP. A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed/MEDLINE, Web of Science, CINAHL, and SCOPUS until December 17, 2023. Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) using CBT-I without co-interventions in people with CMP and sleep disorders were eligible.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of vaccinating children against SARS-CoV-2 was rapidly established. This study describes the safety of CoronaVac in children and adolescents between 3- and 17-years-old in a multicenter study in Chile with two vaccine doses in a 4-week interval. For all participants, immediate adverse events (AEs), serious AEs (SAEs), and AEs of special interest (AESIs) were registered throughout the study.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis is a highly prevalent disease worldwide that leads to functional disability and chronic pain. It has been shown that not only changes are generated at the joint level in these individuals, but also neuroplastic changes are produced in different brain areas, especially in those areas related to pain perception, therefore, the objective of this research was to identify and compare the structural and functional brain changes in knee OA healthy subjects.
Methodology: Searches in MEDLINE (PubMed), EMBASE, WOS, CINAHL, SCOPUS, Health Source, and Epistemonikos databases were conducted to explore the available evidence on the structural and functional brain changes occurring in people with knee OA.

Background: Most studies on cognitive impairment in bipolar disorder have neglected the role of early stress, despite the high frequency of childhood maltreatment in this clinical group. The aim of this study was to establish a connection between a history of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse in childhood and social cognition (SC) in patients with bipolar disorder type I (BD-I) in euthymia, and to test a possible moderating effect of the single nucleotide polymorphism in the oxytocin receptor gene ().
Methods: One hundred and one participants were included in this study.

Gadoxetic acid is an MRI contrast agent that has specific applications in the study of hepatobiliary disease. After being distributed in the vascular and extravascular spaces during the dynamic phase, gadoxetic acid is progressively taken up by hepatocytes and excreted to the bile ducts during the hepatobiliary phase. The information derived from the enhancement characteristics during dynamic and hepatobiliary phases is particularly relevant in the detection and characterization of focal liver lesions and in the evaluation of the structure and function of the liver and biliary system.

Background: To describe the average effects and the interindividual variability after a comprehensive outpatient cardiovascular rehabilitation (CCR) program using concurrent exercise training prescribed according to cardiovascular risk stratification on cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), anthropometric/body composition, quality of life and emotional health in patients of four cardiovascular disease profiles. Methods: CRF, anthropometric/body composition, quality of life, and emotional health were measured before and after a CCR and analyzed in heart valve surgery (HVS), heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), post-acute myocardial infarction (post-AMI), and in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. Twenty, twenty-four, and thirty-two exercise sessions were prescribed according to mild, moderate, and severe baseline cardiovascular risk, respectively.

Background: 24-hour urine collection accuracy is generally evaluated based on the values of urine creatinine (UCr) excretion, usually using ranges adjusted by weight. UCr excretion depends on several factors. Equations to estimate UCr in 24-hour collection (UCr/24h) that consider these factors have been developed.

Neonatal care has undergone important advances involving the technology for treatment and mo nitoring, the design of care spaces, the incorporation of support professionals, and, especially, the strengthening of an organizational model in networks with centers of different levels of care. Neona tal units should be located in centers with maternity services and, ideally, with pediatric ones of an equivalent level of care. This document defines the admission and transfer criteria according to the level of care and among the different levels, respectively.

Introduction: Evidence about coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and pregnancy has rapidly increased since December 2019, making it difficult to make rigorous evidence-based decisions. The objective of this overview of systematic reviews is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current evidence on prognosis of COVID-19 in pregnant women.
Material And Methods: We used the Living OVerview of Evidence (L·OVE) platform for COVID-19, which continually retrieves studies from 46 data sources (including PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, other electronic databases, clinical trials registries, and preprint repositories, among other sources relevant to COVID-19), mapping them into PICO (population, intervention, control, and outcomes) questions.
