Purpose: We describe the results of an infection control intervention, implemented in 4 tertiary hospitals in Romagna, Italy, aiming at containing the spread of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE).
Methods: The intervention consisted of rectal screening in patients at risk for CRE; pre-emptive contact precaution waiting for screening results; timely notification of CRE identification and concomitant computerized alert; contact precaution for confirmed CRE-positive patients. We performed an interrupted time series analysis to compare the incidence of CRE bacteraemia, of other CRE infections, and CRE-positive rectal swabs in the pre and postintervention period (January 2015-July 2017 and August 2017-June 2020, respectively).

Background: Work environment characteristics have an important impact on organizational wellbeing in health care facilities. In the Apulia Region, a new COVID-19 hospital was planned, designated and built in a few weeks for the treatment of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. To our knowledge, this hospital, together with "Fiera Hospital" in Milan, are two of the few buildings worldwide that have been converted into new health care facilities with intensive care center units to treat COVID-19 patients, and this is the first study assessing organizational wellbeing in a newly designated COVID-19 hospital.

The kinetics of postvaccination serum anti-Spike IgG concentration were determined in 1,541 health care workers (Sant'Andrea Hospital of Rome, Italy) with no prior infection by SARS-COV-2. Anti-Spike IgG were measured at 3, 12, and 24 weeks after the completion of the primary vaccine cycle (two doses of the BNT162b2 vaccine by Biontech/Pfizer) and 3 weeks apart a third BNT162b2 dose. Stratification of the study population by age (decades from 21-30 to 61-70) highlighted that 24 weeks after cycle completion all age groups had an order of magnitude reduction in serum IgG titers.

Objectives: To analyze the response in the management of both radiological emergencies and continuity of care in oncologic/fragile patients of a radiology department of Sant'Andrea Academic Hospital in Rome supported by a dedicated business analytics software during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: Imaging volumes and workflows for 2019 and 2020 were analyzed. Information was collected from the hospital data warehouse and evaluated using a business analytics software, aggregated both per week and per quarter, stratified by patient service location (emergency department, inpatients, outpatients) and imaging modality.

Methods: We described the emergency creation of an integrated system of internistic ward, step-down unit, and intensive care unit, physically located in reciprocal vicinity on the same floor. The run was carried out under the control of single intensive care staff, through sharing clinical protocols and informatics systems, and following single director supervision.

This study compared the antibody response in a sample of healthcare workers (HCWs) who, after the first dose of the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine, were infected with SARS-CoV-2 (infection group) with the response in a control group of HCWs immunized with two doses (vaccine group).
Methods: This two-arm observational cohort study was carried out using routine health surveillance data obtained from HCWs at Bari Policlinico General Hospital (Italy).

Background: Patient body size represents the main determinant of parenchymal enhancement and by adjusting the contrast media (CM) dose to patient weight may be a more appropriate approach to avoid a patient over dosage of CM. To compare the performance of fixed-dose and lean body weight (LBW)-adapted contrast media dosing protocols, in terms of image quality and parenchymal enhancement.
Results: One-hundred cancer patients undergoing multiphasic abdominal CT were prospectively enrolled in this multicentric study and randomly divided in two groups: patients in fixed-dose group (n = 50) received 120 mL of CM while in LBW group (n = 50) the amount of CM was computed according to the patient's LBW.
