Compared to classic Lyme disease (LD), Baggio-Yoshinari syndrome (BYS) has the following distinctive characteristics: it is transmitted in the Amazon area and Northeast, Central-West, Southeast, and South regions of Brazil by hard ticks, notably or sp. The absence of sp. ticks in areas at risk of BYS in Brazil is probably the main reason for the disease's differences from LD in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how a web-based intervention aimed at increasing physical activity (PA) might also improve dietary quality among adults with obesity, without direct dietary guidance.
  • After a 12-week pilot trial involving participants randomized into an exercise intervention group or a control group, small improvements in diet quality were observed, measured using the Healthy Eating Index 2020 (HEI-2020).
  • While increases in PA, particularly over 60 minutes a week, showed some positive effects on specific diet quality components, the overall changes in HEI-2020 scores were modest, suggesting more research is needed to assess the combined effects of PA and dietary guidance.

Aortic valve replacement surgery (SAVR) remains a recommended indication, though its pre-surgical stratification is an ongoing challenge. Despite the widespread use of scores like the STS and EuroSCORE II, they have a number of limitations, while often neglecting structural parameters like left ventricular hypertrophy or left atrium volume. This study aimed to evaluate whether a new adaptation of the Généreux classification in the preoperative risk stratification of severe aortic stenosis (AS) is associated with the primary outcome, and to compare it with the original classification versus the traditional scores in short- and long-term follow-up.

We hypothesized that after synovial injury, collagen V (Col V) expose occult antigens, and Col V autoantibodies develop, indicating the loss of immune tolerance against this molecule, thus leading to damage to mesenchymal-derived cells as well as the extracellular matrix in experimental arthritis. Thus, the present study investigated the effects of oral administration of Col V on the synovium after the development of inflammation in mBSA/CFA-induced arthritis. After fourteen days of intraarticular administration of mBSA, 10 male Lewis rats were orally administered Col V (500 μg/300 μL) diluted in 0.
