Approach to the liver transplant early postoperative period: an institutional standpoint.

The liver transplant program in our center started in 1992, and post-liver transplant patients are still admitted to the intensive care unit. For the intensive care physician, a learning curve started then, skills were acquired, and a specific practice was established. Throughout this time, several concepts changed, improving the care of these patients.

Animal models of acute gastric mucosal injury: Macroscopic and microscopic evaluation.

Acute gastric mucosal injury is a common disorder of the gastrointestinal tract and the search for new therapeutics is ongoing. The aim of this study is to update and expand the information related to the most widely used rat models of acute gastric ulcer, the ethanol-induced ulcer and the indomethacin-induced ulcer. These two models are compared in terms of macroscopic and microscopic features.

Risk for falls among community-dwelling older people: systematic literature review.

Objective: To identify the risk factors for falls of the community-dwelling elderly in order to update the Taxonomy II of NANDA International.

Method: A systematic literature review based on research using the following platforms: EBSCOHost®, CINAHL and MEDLINE, from December 2010 to December 2014. The descriptors used were (Fall* OR Accidental Fall) AND (Community Dwelling OR Community Health Services OR Primary health care) AND (Risk OR Risk Assessment OR Fall Risk Factors) AND (Fall* OR Accidental Fall) AND (Community Dwelling OR older) AND Nurs* AND Fall Risk Factors.

[Skin disease in liver and kidney transplant recipients referred to the department of dermatology and venereology].

Introduction: Several skin disorders, immunosuppression-induced, have been described in transplant recipients. The aim of our study is to characterize the clinical spectrum of skin disorders and to compare the findings in liver and kidney transplant recipients.

Material And Methods: A retrospective descriptive study was conducted.
