Objective: The aim of this study was to translate into Spanish the Self Competence in Death Work Scale (SC-DWS) and to explore its psychometric properties of validity and reliability.
Method: Participants were 106 nursing professionals, who worked in units related to care at the end of life. Participants answered a questionnaire containing the Spanish forms of the Self-Competence in Death Work Scale (SC-DWS), Perceived Life Significance Scale (PLSS), Death Anxiety Inventory-Revised (DAI-R), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and General Self Efficacy Scale (GSE).

Objectives: To know the implementation and characteristics of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in the Emergency Departments (EDs) of public hospitals in Catalonia (Spain) and analyze possible differences based on the typology, degree of activity and the availability of an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the hospital.
Design: A non-interventional, descriptive study was carried out, using a structured questionnaire divided into 3sections: 1) professional experience and training; 2) devices used; and 3) clinical scenarios and the use of NIV.
Setting: Persons responsible for public EDs in Catalonia.

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is caused by a lack of blood supply due to obstruction of a coronary artery causing ischaemia around the heart muscle. The patient with AMI usually begins with chest pain, which is sometimes irradiating and oppressive, but this is not always decisive, as we will see. It can be detected rapidly, or suspicion confirmed by performing an ECG, which in most cases will show changes in the ST segment.
