Background And Objectives: It is necessary to expand the knowledge in the use of apremilast in clinical practice. The APPRECIATE study (NCT02740218) aims to describe the characteristics of patients with psoriasis treated with apremilast, to evaluate their perspectives and those of dermatologists, as well as the outcomes obtained in clinical practice in Spain.

Methods: Observational, retrospective, cross-sectional, multicenter study of patients with chronic plaque psoriasis who could be contacted 6 (±1) months after apremilast initiation.

Consequently, these agents are now available as low viscosity formulations, one of which is Squid 12, which are demonstrating superior vascular penetration. Cases of facial paralysis secondary to embolization of cervical vascular lesions with classic embolic agents have been reported in the English literature, however, this complication has not been described with new generation options such as Squid 12.

Melanoma is one of the most aggressive forms of human cancer and its incidence has significantly increased worldwide over the last decades. This neoplasia has been characterized by the release of a wide variety of soluble factors, which could stimulate tumor cell proliferation and survival in an autocrine and paracrine manner. Consequently, we sought to evaluate the pattern of soluble factors produced by pre-metastatic and metastatic melanoma established cultures, and to determine whether these factors can be detected in the autologous serum of malignant melanoma patients.

La perforación esofágica es la más letal de todas las perforaciones del aparato digestivo. Se presenta el caso de un varón de 65 años que acude a urgencias por un cuadro clínico de dolor torácico, vómitos e hipotensión. Se le realizó tomografía computarizada por sospecha de síndrome aórtico agudo, con hallazgos sugerentes de perforación esofágica.

Hematochezia secondary to hemosuccus pancreaticus due to a pseudoaneurysm associated with a pancreatic pseudocyst.

The patient had a history of recurrent acute necrotizing pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis and a pancreatic pseudocyst with an associated pseudoaneurysm in the superior mesenteric artery. He presented mesogastric pain, nausea, 187 U/l amylase and 242 U/l lipase. A hemorrhagic appearance inside the pseudocyst and lumen of the common bile duct was seen on ultrasound.

Hepatic hydatidosis that debuts with a direct rupture to the pleural cavity.

We present the case of a patient with pain in the right hypochondrium, dyspnea, deterioration of his general condition and a positive anti-Echinoccocus antibodies test. Ultrasound and thoraco-abdominal computed tomography (CT) demonstrated a complex hepatic cystic lesion with a transdiaphragmatic fistulous tract trajectory, directed to the pleural space. The lesion was compatible with a complicated hydatid cyst with direct rupture to the pleural cavity.

Acute cholangitis in the context of Lemmel syndrome with signs of diverticulitis.

Here, we present the case of a 51-year-old male with pain in the right hypochondrium, jaundice, fever, chills and septic shock. A computed tomography (CT) scan showed a juxtapapillary diverticulum with inflammatory changes, which caused bile duct ectasia and left biliary radicals. We considered this to be a septic shock of a biliary origin due to the cholangitis associated with Lemmel syndrome, with signs of juxtapapillary diverticulitis.

Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) is a rare autosomal-dominant disease characterized by pathologic angiogenesis that provokes vascular overgrowth. The evidence about the influence of Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) in patients with rare diseases is scarce. We aimed to know the prevalence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in HHT patients.

Digestive involvement in primary Sjögren's syndrome: analysis from the Sjögrenser registry.

Objectives: Digestive involvement (DI) has been reported in 10-30% of primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) patients, and few studies have systematically analysed the prevalence of DI in pSS patients. The aim of this study was to describe DI prevalence in pSS patients from the Sjögrenser Study, and to analyse its clinical associations.

Methods: All patients included in the Sjögrenser study, a Spanish multicentre randomised cohort, containing demographic, clinical and histologic data, have been analysed retrospectively.

Trends and outcome of neoadjuvant treatment for rectal cancer: A retrospective analysis and critical assessment of a 10-year prospective national registry on behalf of the Spanish Rectal Cancer Project.

Introduction: Preoperative treatment and adequate surgery increase local control in rectal cancer. However, modalities and indications for neoadjuvant treatment may be controversial. Aim of this study was to assess the trends of preoperative treatment and outcomes in patients with rectal cancer included in the Rectal Cancer Registry of the Spanish Associations of Surgeons.

[Spanish registry of Covid-19 screening in asymptomatic pregnants.].

Objective: The Spanish registry of Covid-19 in Spanish pregnant women, made up of 100 centers, is created in response to the need to know the morbidity that Covid-19 generates in pregnant women and their newborns, to know the real incidence of the disease in this population group and to establish and monitor the package of measures to improve their care. The aim of this paper was the creation of a registry of pregnant women with Covid-19 infection in order to establish the interventions and measures necessary to improve the care of these patients during hospital admission.

Methods: To prepare the registry, the main researcher of each center collected weekly / biweekly the number of total pregnant women screened, as well as the total number of positive and negative, sending these data to the responsible researchers so that it could be available in real time of the percentage of infected asymptomatic pregnant population and the evolution by weeks in the centers of each participating province.

Gastrointestinal bleeding due to a primary aortoenteric fistula.

We present the case of a 80 years-old male patient who underwent a CT angiogram due to hematemesis and hypovolemic shock. An upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a large clot that closed the antrum and abundant red blood in the pyloric-antrum region. Sclerosis was performed blindly and the bleeding origin was not identified and the success of the sclerosis could not be evaluated.

The advent of new molecular techniques and computer science has allowed researchers to discover microbial composition in depth and associate the structure of vaginal microbial communities. There is a consensus that vaginal flora is grouped into a restricted number of communities, although the structure of the community is constantly changing.

Characterization of microMOSFET detectors for in vivo dosimetry in high-dose-rate brachytherapy with Ir.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to characterize the Best Medical Canada microMOSFET detectors for their application in in vivo dosimetry for high-dose-rate brachytherapy (HDRBT) with Ir. We also developed a mathematical model to correct dependencies under the measurement conditions of these detectors.

Methods: We analyzed the linearity, reproducibility, and interdetector variability and studied the microMOSFET response dependence on temperature, source-detector distance, and angular orientation of the receptor with respect to the source.

Gastrointestinal Tolerance, Growth and Safety of a Partly Fermented Formula with Specific Prebiotics in Healthy Infants: A Double-Blind, Randomized, Controlled Trial.

This study evaluated the effect of a partly fermented infant formula (using the bacterial strains Bifidobacterium breve C50 and Streptococcus thermophilus 065) with a specific prebiotic mixture (short-chain galacto-oligosaccharides (scGOS) and long-chain fructo-oligosaccharides (lcFOS; 9:1)) on the incidence of gastrointestinal symptoms, stool characteristics, sleeping and crying behaviour, growth adequacy and safety. Two-hundred infants ≤28 days of age were assigned either to experimental infant formula containing 30% fermented formula and 0.8 g/100 mL scGOS/lcFOS or to non-fermented control infant formula without scGOS/lcFOS.

Purpose: We studied the dependence on air density of the response of the PTW 34013 ionization chamber, recently upgraded for dosimetry control of low energy X-ray beams.

Methods: Measurements were performed by changing the pressure conditions inside a pressure chamber. The behavior of the measurements against the air density inside this chamber was analyzed.
