Aims: The "Discrimination and Stigma Scale" (DISC) was the first instrument specifically designed to evaluate reported experiences of discrimination by people with mental disorders. This study aims to validate DISC-12 version in Spanish population with Schizophrenia and, as specific objectives, to do the external validation with the Self-Stigma Questionnaire (SSQ) scale and Link PDD scale and to validate their internal consistency, temporal and inter-rater reliability.

Methods: 86 individuals with schizophrenia were interviewed at two time points (between one to two weeks) by two raters.

Olfactory function in focal epilepsies: Understanding mesial temporal lobe epilepsy beyond the hippocampus.

Several lines of research have linked olfactory regions with the pathophysiology of focal epilepsies. Among those regions, the piriform cortex represents the major part of the primary olfactory cortex. According to these data, we raised the hypothesis that in patients with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy associated with hippocampal sclerosis exists an interictal dysfunction of olfactory processing that could be more significant compared to patients with extra-hippocampal focal epilepsy and healthy controls.

[Functional changes during the voiding phase in males with non-neurogenic detrusor underactivity undergoing bladder catheterization.].

Objectives: To investigate urodynamic changes during the voiding phase in males with detrusor underactivity (DU) undergoing bladder catheterization for urinary retention.

Methods: From a total of 64 patients with urinary retention, a follow-up study was performed in 17 males with a mean age of 77 years. Patients received a urodynamic diagnosis of DU based on a Bladder Contractility Index (BCI) score of < 100 and underwent permanent bladder catheterization (16 cases) or clean intermittent catheterization (1 case) for acute urinary retention (14 cases), or post void residual urine (3 cases).

There is a long and extensive experience with the use of Botulinum Toxin type A (BoNT-A) injection in the treatment of different types of strabismus and oculomotor palsies. The frequency of its use varies depending on the country and institution. It is a short procedure, may reduce general anesthesia exposure, causes minimal scarring compared to surgery, and can be proposed as an early treatment in unstable strabismus.

Objective: to present the results of the Spanish home enteral nutrition (HEN) registry of the NADYA-SENPE group for the year 2016 and 2017. Material and methods: from January 1st 2016 to December 31st 2017, the HEN registry was recorded and afterwards a further descriptive and analytical analysis was done. Results: in 2016, 4,578 active patients were recorded and prevalence was 98.

Neuropsychological findings in recent onset schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder: a comparison study.

Introduction: Neurocognitive impairment is considered an essential symptom of schizophrenia, particularly in its early stages. Nonetheless, the neuropsychological features of borderline personality disorder (BPD) could cast doubt on the specificity of neurocognitive dysfunctions. The aim of this study is to determine whether neurocognitive deficits are specific to schizophrenia-spectrum conditions as compared to a similarly severe psychiatric illness like BPD.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This multicenter registry is a substudy of the True or Pseudo-Severe Aortic Stenosis-TAVI registry that included patients with classic LFLG AS, defined as a mean transvalvular gradient less than 35 mm Hg, an effective orifice area less than 1.

Antireflux ureteral stent proof of concept assessment after minimally invasive treatment of obstructive uropathy in animal model.

Background: Complications of intravenous lipid administration are relatively uncommon. However, inadvertent rapid infusion of intravenous fat emulsion (IVFE) is an inherent risk when fats are infused separately from the dextrose-amino acid solution.

Case Report: Extremely preterm infant, born at 25 weeks and 6 days of gestational age weighing 920 g, who inadvertently received a massive overdose of IVFE due to a device failure.

Current training in urological endoscopy lacks a specific training program. Bilateral clear cell acanthoma of the areola and nipple: good response to topical corticosteroids.

Unlabelled: Clear cell acanthoma is a rare, epidermal tumor not common in the area of the nipples; indeed, the literature describes only 8 cases, all showing unilateral presentation. We here report the first case of bilateral clear cell acanthoma with good response to topical corticosteroids.

Case Report: A sixteen-year old girl presented with 2 excrescent, fleshy, and exudative tumor masses in both nipples and areola mammae.

Eating disorders (EDs) are a series of differentiated nosological entities sharing the common link of a continuous alteration in food intake or in food intake-related behavior. Within this classification, the following disorders are noteworthy: anorexia nerviosa (AN) and bulimia nerviosa (BN). Anorexia nervosa is a chronic disorder characterized mainly by negative or decreased food intake accompanied by a distortion of body image and intense accompanying fear of weight gain.

Objectives: To analyze, depending on the technique employed, recurrence, symptomatic improvement and testicular growth following treatment of testicular varicocele.

Material And Methods: Descriptive retrospective study of 69 pediatric and adolescent males diagnosed with varicocele treated in our center by open technique according Ivanissevich technique (IT), Palomo (PT) and percutaneous embolization (PE) between 2000-2014. Variables analyzed were age, symptoms, differential testicular volume (RV), employed technique, recurrence, symptomatic improvement and RV after treatment.
