Background: Drug-drug interactions between antiretroviral treatment (ART) and cytostatics may have a negative impact in the prognosis of people with HIV (PWH) and cancer.
Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of the implementation of interdisciplinary management and the type of ART in PWH diagnosed with lymphoid neoplasms.
Methods: This is a multicentric, retrospective observational cohort study including PWH diagnosed with lymphoid neoplasm who started first-line chemotherapy between 2008 and 2020.

Background: Computer-aided detection (CADe) systems for colonoscopy have been shown to increase small polyp detection during colonoscopy in the general population. People with Lynch syndrome represent an ideal target population for CADe-assisted colonoscopy because adenomas, the primary cancer precursor lesions, are characterised by their small size and higher likelihood of showing advanced histology. We aimed to evaluate the performance of CADe-assisted colonoscopy in detecting adenomas in individuals with Lynch syndrome.

Background: Genetic disease has recently emerged as a cause of cardiac conduction disorders (CCDs), but the diagnostic yield of genetic testing and the contribution of the different genes to CCD is still unsettled.
Objectives: This study sought to determine the diagnostic yield of genetic testing in young adults with CCD of unknown etiology requiring pacemaker implantation. We also studied the prevalence of rare protein-altering variants across individual genes and functional gene groups.

Synucleinopathies are disorders characterized by the aggregation and deposition of pathological α-synuclein conformers. The underlying neurodegenerative processes begin years or decades before the onset of cardinal motor symptoms. This prodromal phase may manifest with various signs or symptoms.

Abdominal distension is a clinical occurrence that involves a measurable, objective increase in abdominal circumference, which patients report as feeling like pregnant or like having a balloon inside the abdomen. This sign is often preceded by a subjective feeling of abdominal heaviness or bloating, reported as the sensation of having a huge amount of gas trapped inside. These manifestations are highly prevalent and may reflect on their own a gut-brain axis condition, such as functional abdominal distension, or be part of other disorders such as functional dyspepsia or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Objectives: To describe the management of haematological patients experiencing prolonged SARS-CoV-2 viral shedding, as the optimal management strategy for this condition remains undetermined.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective evaluation of our prospectively followed cohort of haematological patients treated with remdesivir for more than 10 days. Starting January 2023, upon COVID-19 diagnosis, the treatment strategy was based on symptoms and PCR cycle threshold (Ct) as follows: (i) when Ct was 25 or less or if the patient had symptoms, a course of remdesivir for at least 10 days, nirmatrelvir/ritonavir for 5 days (whenever possible) and convalescent plasma was administered; and (ii) when the patient was asymptomatic and had a PCR Ct of more than 25, when possible, a course of 5 days of nirmatrelvir/ritonavir was administered.

Introduction: This study compares the direct healthcare costs associated with asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) from 2013 to 2017 in Catalonia (Spain) with a population control group without these conditions.
Methods: A population administrative database containing healthcare information was used. The database contained information on primary care, hospitalisations, and emergency care from 2013 to 2017 in Catalonia.

People living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), and it is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in this population. CVD risk increases with each uncontrolled risk factor, even in individuals with good glycaemic control. Recommendations for assessing CVD risk in the T1D population are extended from those for type 2 diabetes (T2D) even though the physiopathology and underlying mechanisms of atherosclerosis in T1D are poorly understood and differ from those in T2D.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence and patterns of social media use among gynecologic oncologists for professional and academic purposes.
Methods: A prospective online survey between November and December 2022 targeted gynecologic oncology practitioners (gynecologic oncologists, surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation/clinical oncologists, and onco-pathologists/pathologists). The survey, distributed via various social media platforms, included 40 questions to capture qualitative and quantitative data on social media use.

Background: Novel and highly effective drugs for non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) improve patient outcomes, but their high cost strains healthcare systems. Spain's decentralized public health system, managed by 17 autonomous communities (AaCc), raises concerns about equitable access.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey (July-September 2023) was sent to Spanish Multidisciplinary Melanoma Group (GEM Group) members to assess access to new drugs.

In recent years, concern about the effects of ionizing radiation on exposed individuals has led to the need to regulate and quantify the use of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. Geopolitical events in recent times have also increased the population's perception of insecurity regarding ionizing radiation, and we increasingly face patients reluctant to undergo certain types of scans in our nuclear medicine services and, albeit less frequently, in radiology services. This article aims to summarise the extent to which ionizing radiation is present in our daily lives and how diagnostic and therapeutic procedures can affect our health, particularly from the perspective of their effects on the thyroid gland, one of the body's most radiation-sensitive organs.

Background: Encorafenib plus binimetinib (EB) is a standard-of-care treatment for advanced BRAFV600-mutant melanoma. We assessed the efficacy and safety of encorafenib plus binimetinib in patients with BRAFV600-mutant melanoma and brain metastasis (BM) and explored if radiotherapy improves the duration of response.
Methods: E-BRAIN/GEM1802 was a prospective, multicenter, single-arm, phase II trial that enrolled patients with melanoma BRAFV600-mutant and BM.

In this paper, we analyse the different advances in artificial intelligence (AI) approaches in multiple sclerosis (MS). AI applications in MS range across investigation of disease pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. A subset of AI, Machine learning (ML) models analyse various data sources, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), genetic, and clinical data, to distinguish MS from other conditions, predict disease progression, and personalize treatment strategies.

Aim: To investigate the impact of pituitary surgery on glucose metabolism and to identify predictors of remission of diabetes after pituitary surgery in patients with acromegaly.
Methods: A national multicenter retrospective study of patients with acromegaly undergoing transsphenoidal surgery for the first time at 33 tertiary Spanish hospitals (ACRO-SPAIN study) was performed. Surgical remission of acromegaly was evaluated according to the 2000 and 2010 criteria.
