Treatment of Onychomycosis and the Drug-Drug Interactions in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus and Diabetic Foot Syndrome: A Systematic Review.

This systematic review reports on treatments for onychomycosis in patients with diabetes and the drug interactions with other drugs in regard to the complicated diabetic patient profile. The recommendations in the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis (PRISMA) checklist were applied and the included studies were evaluated using the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) statement and the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) statement. Searches were conducted in November 2023, using the PubMed (Medline), Scopus, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases; studies on antifungal treatments for onychomycosis in patients with diabetes were included.

What should intensivists know about immune checkpoint inhibitors and their side effects?

The pharmacological group of immune checkpoint-inhibitors (ICI) has revolutionized the field of oncology in the last ten years. The improvements in the survival of certain cancers thanks to these treatments comes at the cost of an increased morbidity and mortality due to certain immune related adverse events (irAE). Methods: We developed a mobile app to collect HRQoL data every 3 months using the WHOQOL-HIV-BREF questionnaire (31 items across six domains), among PWH followed in CoRIS in 2021-2023. Factors associated with good/very good global HRQoL and with domain-specific mean scores were identified using multivariable logistic and linear regression, respectively.

Communicating hydrocephalus in glioblastoma presenting as chronic hydrocephalus: systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: Communicating hydrocephalus (CH) is an uncommon complication that can affect patients with glioblastoma (GBM). Due to its clinical and radiological findings, it presents as a chronic hydrocephalus. Those with compensated advanced chronic liver disease remain at risk for hepatic decompensation and de novo HCC. Algorithms have been developed to stratify risk early after cure; however, data on long-term outcomes and the prognostic utility of these risk stratification algorithms at later time points are lacking.
