Case: A giant seroma developed in the hip of a 44-year-old man after resection arthroplasty performed for recurrent periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). The seroma persisted despite joint reconstruction but was ultimately treated successfully by internal drainage through a coxoperitoneal shunt.
Conclusion: Resection arthroplasty of the hip is considered a salvage procedure for failed implant retention in the situation of persistent PJI.

Background: Rare diseases (RDs) in rheumatology as a group have a high prevalence, but randomized controlled trials are hampered by their heterogeneity and low individual prevalence. To survey the current evidence of pharmacotherapies for rare rheumatic diseases, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of RDs in rheumatology for different pharmaco-interventions were included into this meta-analysis if there were two or more trials investigating the same RD and using the same assessment tools or outcome parameters.

Background: In colorectal cancer (CRC), tumour budding at the invasion front is associated with lymph node (LN) and distant metastasis. Interestingly, tumour budding can also be detected in biopsies (intratumoural budding; ITB) and may have similar clinical importance. Here we investigate whether ITB in preoperative CRC biopsies can be translated into daily diagnostic practice.
