Study Design: This was a retrospective longitudinal observational study.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the results of cervical sagittal parameters on preoperative and postoperative lateral radiographs in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). ACDF is believed to change craniocervical parameters and thus cervical curvature using polyetheretherketone (PEEK) or titanium cages with or without self-locking as well as an anterior plate, the latter of which has not been shown to provide better clinical or radiological results.

Guillain-Barré syndrome, which is part of the spectrum of inflammatory neuropathies, is not expected to occur early after organ transplant when immunosuppression is at its highest point. We describe the clinical case of a patient who underwent an urgent liver transplant due to acute liver failure secondary to drug-induced liver injury and developed Guillain-Barré syndrome early after the transplant.

Background Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a craniofacial pain characterized by sudden onset, brief, severe, recurrent shooting pain within one or more branches of the trigeminal nerve (CN V). Based on its clinical presentation, TN may be classified as purely paroxysmal or paroxysmal with concomitant continuous pain (CCP), previously known as typical and atypical, respectively. Microvascular decompression (MVD) surgery for releasing the CN V from a neurovascular conflict is an effective and safe treatment for TN.

The metabolic reprogramming that promotes tumorigenesis in glioblastoma is induced by dynamic alterations in the hypoxic tumor microenvironment, as well as in transcriptional and signaling networks, which result in changes in global genetic expression. The signaling pathways PI3K/AKT/mTOR and RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK stimulate cell metabolism, either directly or indirectly, by modulating the transcriptional factors p53, HIF1, and c-Myc. The overexpression of HIF1 and c-Myc, master regulators of cellular metabolism, is a key contributor to the synthesis of bioenergetic molecules that mediate glioma cell transformation, proliferation, survival, migration, and invasion by modifying the transcription levels of key gene groups involved in metabolism.

Introduction: ligamentous injuries of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis resulting in its opening are common occurrences in traumatology; however, their diagnosis poses a challenge for orthopedic surgeons. The tibioastragaloid mortise radiograph view is the most commonly used method for diagnosing this type of injury, but its reliability is compromised due to variations in ankle positioning during the study, which often depend on the operator.
Objective: to demonstrate that the designed device achieves a correct and consistent radiographic image of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis in the mortise view.
