Cerebral capillary oxygen diffusion: exploring the concept of intracapillary hemoglobin conformational changes.

The mechanisms of oxygen diffusion in brain capillaries have not been fully clarified to date. According to the laws of physics, the well-documented phenomenon of hyperoxemia-induced excessive increases in brain tissue oxygen pressure (PbtO2) contradicts traditional models of cerebral capillary oxygen diffusion. Circulating models predict a significant drop in oxygen pressure (PO2), and some of them foresee the presence of hypoxic or anoxic corners near the capillary end, regardless of high PbtO2 levels.

Background: In health care, quality-of-life surveys and questionnaires related to care are becoming increasingly important as a measure of its quality. There is currently no Spanish version of the Unité Rhumatologique des Affections de la Main (URAM) scale, which makes it suitable for hand pathology. The purposes of this study are to develop a Spanish version of the URAM and perform a transcultural adaptation of it, analyzing the result for reliability, validity, and sensitivity to changes.

Fresh Osteochondral Patellar Allograft Resurfacing.

The treatment of articular cartilage lesions in young patients is certainly a complex matter and subject of continuous research, particularly for those located at the patellofemoral joint, given its peculiar biomechanical characteristics. Osteochondral grafts can be of relatively small size when the defect is focal and in an area that allows good stability and consequently the graft's integration. In case of large or multifocal lesions, it is possible to consider an osteochondral transplantation of the entire articular surface of the patella.

One year follow-up after treatment with CCH for Dupuytren's disease: A prospective view.

However, the ability of this radiological method to establish an anatomic femoral attachment point might not be as accurate as expected.

Purpose: (1) To evaluate the accuracy of the radiological method to locate the anatomic femoral fixation point in MPFL reconstruction surgery and (2) to determine the factors influencing the predictability of this method to obtain this objective.
