Objectives: Several patients experience chronic pain after total knee arthroplasty (TKA), with the source of postoperative pain attributed to intra- and extra-articular factors. This study focused on the proximal tibia with either the Pes anserinus (PA) or around Gerdy's tubercle (GT) as the most common site of extra-articular pain.

Methods: This prospective study included 270 patients (360 knees) with advanced varus osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee scheduled for primary TKA and the patient population comprised 289 women and 71 men with a mean age of 74.

Background: Anatomic rectangular tunnel anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ART-ACLR) can mimic the fiber arrangement of the native ACL and restore normal knee biomechanics, compared with the conventional round tunnel ACLR. ART-ACLR using a bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) graft can provide satisfactory clinical outcomes; however, some issues such as secondary ACL injury and donor-site morbidity, including postoperative anterior knee pain (AKP), remain to be solved. Due to these issues, quadriceps tendon-bone (QTB) grafts have recently become more popular.

Article Synopsis
  • This study compared the effectiveness of two surgical procedures, anterior spinal fusion (ASF) and posterior cervical foraminotomy (PCF), in helping patients recover motor function after surgery for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR).
  • A total of 227 patients were evaluated, with 106 focusing specifically on those with upper-limb motor deficits, and their recovery was monitored for at least 12 months post-surgery.
  • Results indicated that while the overall recovery rates were similar (74% for ASF and 86% for PCF), the PCF group recovered motor function significantly faster at 3, 6, and 12 months compared to the ASF group, suggesting PCF may be the better option for quicker recovery

Background: Complete endoscopic resection of superficial non-ampullary duodenal epithelial tumors (SNADETs) is technically difficult, especially with an extremely high risk of adverse event (AE), although various endoscopic resection methods including endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), underwater EMR (UEMR), and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) have been tried for SNADETs. Accordingly, a novel simple resection method that can completely resect tumors with a low risk of AEs should be developed.

Aims: A resection method of Noninjecting Resection using Bipolar Soft coagulation mode (NIRBS) which has been reported to be effective and safe for colorectal lesions is adapted for SNADETs.
