Introduction: Prevention of cardiovascular disease is a major issue in the current management of people living with HIV. Concern is growing about the metabolic impact of integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs), which could lead to an increased risk of diabetes, but the data are conflicting. This is an updated version of our previous analysis, with longer follow-up and new molecules.

Purpose: To retrospectively identify clinical, pathologic, or imaging factors predictive of local relapse (LR) after preoperative radiotherapy (RT) for soft tissue sarcomas (STS).
Methods And Materials: This is a retrospective multicenter study of patients who underwent preoperative RT and surgery for limb or trunk wall STS between 2007 and 2018 in French Sarcoma Group centers and were enrolled in the "Conticabase". Patterns of LR were investigated taking into account the multimodal response after preoperative RT.

Background: Factors associated with severe COVID-19 infection have been identified; however, the impact of infection on longer-term outcomes is unclear. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of COVID-19 infection on the trajectory of lung function and nutritional status in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF).
Methods: This is a retrospective global cohort study of pwCF who had confirmed COVID-19 infection diagnosed between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021.
Purpose: Concerns remain with regards to safety of fast-track (FT) and especially outpatient procedures. The purpose of this study was to compare complication rates and clinical outcomes of propensity-matched patients who received FT total hip arthroplasty (THA) in outpatient versus inpatient settings. The hypothesis was that 90-day postoperative complication rates of outpatient FT THA would not be higher than after inpatient FT THA.

Background: To our knowledge, no large observational study has compared the incidence and risk factors for extubation failure within 48 h and during ICU stay in the same cohort of unselected critically ill patients with and without obesity.
Research Question: What are the incidence and risk factors of extubation failure in patients with and without obesity?
Study Design And Methods: In the prospective multicenter observational Practices and Risk Factors for Weaning and Extubation Airway Failure in Adult Intensive Care Unit: A Multicenter Trial (FREEREA) study in 26 ICUs, the primary objective was to compare the incidence of extubation failure within 48 h in patients with and without obesity. Secondary objectives were to describe and to identify the independent specific risk factors for extubation failure using first a logistic regression model and second a decision tree analysis.

The main limitation to long-term lung transplant (LT) survival is chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD), which leads to irreversible lung damage and significant mortality. Individual factors can impact CLAD, but no large genetic investigation has been conducted to date. We established the multicentric Genetic COhort in Lung Transplantation (GenCOLT) biobank from a rich and homogeneous sub-part of COLT cohort.

BACKGROUND Lung transplantation (LTx) is a life-extending therapy for specific patients with terminal lung diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the associations and causes of 1-year mortality after lung transplantation at Strasbourg University Hospital, France, between 2012 and 2021. MATERIAL AND METHODS We carried out a retrospective analysis on 425 patients who underwent LTx at Strasbourg University Hospital between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2021.

Background: The underrepresentation of women in leadership remains a pervasive issue, prompting a critical examination of support mechanisms within professional settings. Previous studies have identified challenges women face, ranging from limited visibility to barriers to career advancement. This survey aims to investigate perceptions regarding the effectiveness of women's leadership programs, mentoring initiatives, and a specialized communication course.

Introduction: The therapeutic armamentarium for spondyloarthritis has expanded considerably in recent years, and there is growing evidence to support the increasing use of IL-17 inhibitors (IL-17i) in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA).
Areas Covered: This literature review provides an update on the role of IL-17 in the pathogenesis of axSpA, efficacy and safety from clinical trials and real-life studies on the use of IL17i in axSpA. We also review the impact of extra-musculoskeletal manifestations on the decision to treat with IL17i and the efficacy of IL17i on structural progression.

Background: Ovarian cancer (OC) remains one of the most challenging and deadly malignancies facing women today. While PARP inhibitors (PARPis) have transformed the treatment landscape for women with advanced OC, many patients will relapse and the PARPi-resistant setting is an area of unmet medical need. Traditional immunotherapies targeting PD-1/PD-L1 have failed to show any benefit in OC.

piRNAs are crucial for transposon silencing, germ cell maturation, and fertility in male mice. Here, we report on the genetic landscape of piRNA dysfunction in humans and present 39 infertile men carrying biallelic variants in 14 different piRNA pathway genes, including PIWIL1, GTSF1, GPAT2, MAEL, TDRD1, and DDX4. In some affected men, the testicular phenotypes differ from those of the respective knockout mice and range from complete germ cell loss to the production of a few morphologically abnormal sperm.

Objectives: Pharmaceutical interventions are proposals made by hospital clinical pharmacists to address sub-optimal uses of medications during prescription review. Pharmaceutical interventions include the identification of drug-related problems, their prevention and resolution. The objective of this study was to exploit a newly developed deep neural network classifier to identify drug-related problems from pharmaceutical interventions and perform a large retrospective descriptive analysis of them in a French university hospital over a 3-year period.

Introduction: The objective of this systematic review was to provide an overview of current developments and potentially available therapeutic options for polymyalgia rheumatic (PMR) and giant cell arteritis (GCA), in the coming years.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review of 17 national and international clinical trial databases for all disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) for PMR and GCA that are already marketed, in clinical development or withdrawn. The search was performed on January 2024, with the keywords "polymyalgia rheumatica" and "giant cell arteritis".

Introduction: It is recommended to use two chronometric assays of different principles for the diagnosis of lupus anticoagulant (LA), consisting in diluted Russell Viper Venom Time (dRVVT) and activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (aPTT). Yet, there are only a few integrated aPTT assays; this study aims to evaluate one of them: Cephen LS/Cephen (Hyphen Biomed).

Introduction: We investigated the link between habitual caffeine intake with memory impairments and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients.
Methods: MCI (N = 147) and AD (N = 116) patients of the Biomarker of AmyLoid pepTide and AlZheimer's diseAse Risk (BALTAZAR) cohort reported their caffeine intake at inclusion using a dedicated survey. Associations of caffeine consumption with memory impairments and CSF biomarkers (tau, p-tau181, amyloid beta 1-42 [Aβ], Aβ) were analyzed using logistic and analysis of covariance models.

Rare genetic diseases are difficult to diagnose and this translates in patient's diagnostic odyssey! This is particularly true for more than 900 rare diseases including orodental developmental anomalies such as missing teeth. However, if left untreated, their symptoms can become significant and disabling for the patient. Early detection and rapid management are therefore essential in this context.

Purpose: Human trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (Trop-2) is a protein highly expressed in urothelial cancer (UC). Sacituzumab govitecan (SG) is a Trop-2-directed antibody drug conjugate with a hydrolysable linker and a potent SN-38 payload. This study explored Trop-2 expression in tumors treated with SG in cohorts 1 to 3 (C1-3) from the TROPHY-U-01 study and evaluated whether efficacy was associated with Trop-2 expression.
