Introduction And Hypothesis: We aimed to analyze the quality of sexual life of patients with apical vaginal wall prolapse who had undergone laparoscopic lateral suspension (LLS) and laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (LSC).
Methods: We performed a secondary analysis of sexual outcomes of a previous randomized control trial comparing LLS and LSC in 89 women with symptomatic POP stage ≥ II. We evaluated sexually active (SA) and non-sexually active women (NSA) using the Pelvic Organ Prolapse/Incontinence Sexual Questionnaire-IUGA-Revised (PISQ-IR).

Purpose: Transient arginine vasopressin deficiency (AVP-D), previously called diabetes insipidus, is a well-known complication of transsphenoidal pituitary surgery (TPS) with no definite predictive biomarker to date making it difficult to anticipate. While oxytocin (OXT) was previously suggested as a possible biomarker to predict syndrome of inappropriate diuresis (SIAD)-related hyponatraemia after TPS, its secretion in patients presenting with AVP-D remains poorly understood. We therefore hypothesized that OXT might present a different secretion in the case of AVP-D which would support its potential as an early biomarker of AVP-D.

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, leading to personality changes, language impairments, and behavioral disturbances, including impulsivity and disinhibition. Assessing responsibility and recidivism risk in forensic evaluations is challenging due to the evolving nature of FTD. Despite limited literature, we present a case of a 45-year-old man with no prior legal or medical history, who committed criminal acts due to behavioral changes linked to the behavioral variant of frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD).

Introduction And Objectives: The role of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in the risk prediction of patients with systemic right ventricles (sRV) is not well defined. The aim of this study was to analyze the prognostic value of NT-proBNP in patients with an sRV.
Methods: The prognostic value of NT-proBNP was assessed in 98 patients from the SERVE trial.
Background: The determinants and prognostic value of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) among patients with a systemic right ventricle are largely unknown.
Methods And Results: Ninety-eight patients from the randomized controlled SERVE (Effect of Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibition With Tadalafil on Systemic Right Ventricular Size and Function) trial were included. The correlation between baseline hs-cTnT concentrations and biventricular volumes and function quantified by cardiac magnetic resonance or cardiac multirow detector computed tomography was assessed by adjusted linear regression models.

The use of direct alcohol biomarkers (ethylglucuronide and phosphatidylethanol) has recently been implemented in a clinical setting. Due to their low alcohol detection threshold, high sensitivity, and specificity, these tools are very useful in the pre- and post-liver transplantation setting, where the history and physical signs are not always reliable. However, the interpretation of the results can sometimes be misleading and must be integrated into a global clinical evaluation and, more importantly, in the clinical context of each patient.

Allogeneic haematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) remains an option for tyrosine kinase inhibitor-resistant chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) in first chronic phase (CP1) and high-risk patients with advanced disease phases. In this European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) registry-based study of 1686 CML patients undergoing first allo-HCT between 2012 and 2019, outcomes were evaluated according to donor type, particularly focusing on mismatched related donors (MMRDs). Median age at allo-HCT was 46 years (IQR 36-55).

Introduction: In the first part of this White Paper, the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) Diversity in Neurosurgery Committee (DC) addressed the obstacles faced by neurosurgeons when planning to have a family and practice during pregnancy, attempting to enumerate potential, easily implementable solutions for departments to be more family-friendly and retain as well as foster talent of parent-neurosurgeons, regardless of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation. Attrition avoidance amongst parent-neurosurgeons is at the heart of these papers.
Research Question: In this second part, we address the obstacles posed by practice with children and measures to mitigate attrition rates among parent-neurosurgeons.

Most undocumented migrants are employed in so-called "dirty jobs" or "3D jobs" (dangerous, dirty and degrading) due to their lack of legal status. This study aimed to describe the self-reported health of undocumented and newly regularized migrants in relation to their working conditions. A cross-sectional study was conducted using data collected during the first phase of the study (2017-18), a survey that monitors the socioeconomic and health impact of a regularization scheme for undocumented workers in Geneva, Switzerland.

Introduction: Family and work have immensely changed and become intertwined over the past half century for both men and women. Additionally, alongside to traditional family structures prevalent, other forms of families such as single parents, LGBTQ + parents, and bonus families are becoming more common. Previous studies have shown that surgical trainees regularly leave residency when considering becoming a parent due to the negative stigma associated with pregnancy during training, dissatisfaction with parental leave options, inadequate lactation and childcare support, and desire for greater mentorship on work-life integration.

Objective: Oxytocin (OXT) secretion has been shown to be abnormally elevated in patients who develop syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone (SIADH)-related hyponatremia after transsphenoidal pituitary surgery (TPS). While OXT was previously reported to increase natriuresis in the kidney, a potential role for this hormone in postoperative sodium balance and dysnatremias has not been studied. The objective of this study was to analyze the correlation between patients' urinary output of OXT and natremia and natriuresis after TPS.
