The development of new semiconductor photocatalysts toward splitting water has supplied a promising way to obtain sustainable and clean hydrogen energy. Herein, CdZnS@layered double hydroxide (LDH) composites with a hierarchical flower-like microstructure have been fabricated with the aid of ZnCr-LDH nanosheets as templates. XRD, SEM and HRTEM show that the ZnCr-LDH nanosheets are uniformly dispersed within the composites.

In this study, we used the Chinese Multiethnic Adolescent Cultural Identity Questionnaire (CMACIQ) and collected valid data from 1,036 participants to systematically examine the mental model of cultural identity in Chinese multiethnic adolescents. Exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were performed on the data to discover the factor structure and dimensions of cultural identity. The psychometric properties of the scale were rigorously validated in 2,744 new multiethnic participants from 5 native ethnic groups in Yunnan province in China.

March 2015

a Key Laboratory of Crops with High Quality and Efficient Cultivation and Security Control , Yunnan Higher Education Institutions, Honghe University, Mengzi 661199 , Yunnan , People's Republic of China.

In this study, a combined process was developed that included flocculation, Fenton oxidation and sequencing batch reactor (SBR) to treat oilfield fracturing wastewater (FW). Flocculation and Fenton oxidation were applied to reduce chemical oxygen demand (COD) organic load and to enhance biodegradability, respectively. For flocculation, the optimum conditions were: polymeric aluminium chloride dosage, 40 mg/L; polyacrylamide dosage, 4 mg/L; dilution ratio, 1:2 and stirring time, 30 min.

Acyl chain length of phosphatidylserine is correlated with plant lifespan.

Key Laboratory of Biodiversity and Biogeography, Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Kunming, Yunnan, China; Plant Germplasm and Genomics Center, Germplasm Bank of Wild Species, Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Kunming, Yunnan, China.

Article Synopsis
  • Plant lifespan is influenced by genetic and environmental factors, but the specific laws governing these effects remain unclear.
  • Research reveals that the acyl chain length (ACL) of phosphatidylserine (PS) is linked to plant lifespan, exhibiting significant diversity compared to other membrane lipids, which are more consistent across plant species and conditions.
  • As plants develop and age, the ACL of PS increases, particularly during senescence and stress, suggesting that it could serve as a molecular indicator for assessing plant lifespan and development.

College of Animal Science and Technology, Northwest A&F University, Shaanxi Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology for Agriculture, Yangling, Shaanxi 712100, China. Electronic address:

Forkhead box A2 (Foxa2) has been recognized as one of the most potent transcriptional activators that is implicated in the control of feeding behavior and energy homeostasis. However, similar researches about the effects of genetic variations of Foxa2 gene on growth traits are lacking. Therefore, this study detected Foxa2 gene polymorphisms by DNA pool sequencing, PCR-RFLP and PCR-ACRS methods in 822 individuals from three Chinese cattle breeds.

In this paper, we reported a simple strategy for synthesizing well-defined TiO2NTs-Au@Pd hybrid nanostructures with prior TiO2 nanotube functionalization (F-TiO2NTs). TiO2NTs with larger surface area (BET surface area is 184.9m(2)g(-1)) were synthesized by hydrothermal method, and the NTs are anatase phase with a range of 2-3μm in length and 30-50nm in diameter after calcined at 400°C for 3h.

This paper investigates the problem of adaptive lag synchronization for a kind of competitive neural network with discrete and distributed delays (mixed delays), as well as uncertain nonlinear external and stochastic perturbations (hybrid perturbations). A simple but robust adaptive controller is designed such that the response system can lag-synchronize with a drive system. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and some suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, several sufficient conditions ensuring the lag synchronization are developed.

Changes in membrane lipid composition play important roles in plant adaptation to and survival after freezing. Plant response to cold and freezing involves three distinct phases: cold acclimation, freezing, and post-freezing recovery. Considerable progress has been made toward understanding lipid changes during cold acclimation and freezing, but little is known about lipid alteration during post-freezing recovery.
