Background: Rilonacept inhibits the interleukin-1 pathway, and extended treatment in patients with recurrent pericarditis (RP) reduced recurrence risk by 98% in the phase 3 trial, RHAPSODY long-term extension (LTE). Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-CoV-2 vaccination and/or infection may trigger pericarditis recurrence, and in clinical practice, it is unknown whether to continue rilonacept during SARS-CoV-2 infection. This post-hoc analysis of the RHAPSODY LTE aimed to inform rilonacept management in RP patients vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 or who contract COVID-19.

Background: Adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN) is a neurodegenerative disease phenotype of X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), resulting in progressive myeloneuropathy causing spastic paraparesis, sensory ataxia, and bowel/bladder symptoms. We conducted a retrospective cohort study using two large administrative databases to characterize mortality and the burden of illness in adult men with AMN in the US.
Results: Healthcare resource use was assessed using a national commercial insurance claims database (2006-2021).

Objective: To investigate the optimal gestational age to deliver pregnant people with chronic hypertension to improve perinatal outcomes.
Methods: We conducted a planned secondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial of chronic hypertension treatment to different blood pressure goals. Participants with term, singleton gestations were included.

Purpose: Targeted Agent and Profiling Utilization Registry (TAPUR) is a phase II basket trial evaluating the antitumor activity of commercially available targeted agents in patients with advanced cancer and genomic alterations known to be drug targets. Results of a cohort of patients with soft tissue sarcoma with cyclin-dependent kinase 4 () amplification treated with palbociclib are reported.
Methods: Eligible patients had measurable disease, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status 0 to 2, adequate organ function, and no standard treatment options.

Context: DNA damage/repair gene variants are associated with both primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) and cancer risk.
Objective: We hypothesized that a subset of women with POI and family members would have increased risk for cancer.
Design: Case-control population-based study using records from 1995-2022.

Background: Anaphylaxis is an acute, potentially life-threatening systemic hypersensitivity reaction that commonly occurs in the community setting and is best managed with epinephrine.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) pandemic on trends in acute at-home anaphylactic events, including emergency room (ER) visits and treatment for anaphylaxis.
Methods: We used data from 2 sources: survey data from the Food Allergy Research and Education Patient Registry and the electronic medical records of patients who presented to the Tampa General Hospital ER with a diagnosis of anaphylaxis.

Objective: To evaluate maternal and neonatal outcomes by type of antihypertensive used in participants of the CHAP (Chronic Hypertension in Pregnancy) trial.
Methods: We conducted a planned secondary analysis of CHAP, an open-label, multicenter, randomized trial of antihypertensive treatment compared with standard care (no treatment unless severe hypertension developed) in pregnant patients with mild chronic hypertension (blood pressure 140-159/90-104 mm Hg before 20 weeks of gestation) and singleton pregnancies. We performed three comparisons based on medications prescribed at enrollment: labetalol compared with standard care, nifedipine compared with standard care, and labetalol compared with nifedipine.

Purpose: Function and cosmesis may be improved by replantation following digital amputation in pediatric patients. However, accurate failure and complication rate estimates may be limited as most pertinent studies reflect single center/surgeon experience and therefore are limited by small sample sizes. The primary aim of this study was to assess the rate of failure (amputation) following pediatric digital replantation.

Background: Accumulating evidence shows that peri-conceptional and in-utero exposures have lifetime health impacts for mothers and their offspring.
Objectives: We conducted a Follow-Up Study of the Effects of Aspirin in Gestation and Reproduction (EAGeR) trial with two objectives. First, we determined if women who enrolled at the Utah site (N = 1001) of the EAGeR trial (2007-2011, N = 1228) could successfully be contacted and agree to complete an online questionnaire on their reproductive, cardio-metabolic, and offspring respiratory health 9-14 years after original enrollment.

Hypertension disparities persist and remain high among racial and ethnic minority populations in the United States (US). Data-driven approaches based on electronic health records (EHRs) in primary care are seen as a strong opportunity to address this situation. This qualitative study evaluated the development, sustainability, and usability of an EHR-integrated hypertension disparities dashboard for health care professionals in primary care.

Previous models for prediction of vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) relied on race and ethnicity, raising concern for bias. In response, the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network (MFMU) created a new prediction model without race and ethnicity for individuals with one prior cesarean delivery. We performed a secondary analysis of the MFMU Cesarean Registry database to evaluate whether the MFMU VBAC prediction model without race and ethnicity could accurately predict VBAC for individuals with two prior cesarean deliveries.

SNOMED CT is the most comprehensive clinical terminology employed worldwide and enhancing its accuracy is of utmost importance. In this work, we introduce an automated approach to identifying erroneous IS-A relations in SNOMED CT. We first extract linked concept-pairs from which we generate Term Difference Pairs (TDPs) that contain differences between the concepts.
