This study examines the impact of injection parameters on the weld line strength of the polyamide 6 and 30% fiberglass (PA6 + 30% FG) composite samples. The effects of filling time, packing time, packing pressure, melt temperature, and mold temperature on the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and the elongation value of the weld line are investigated. The results reveal that the filling time factor has the lowest influence rate.

In this exploratory study, Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) were utilized for the first time to detect botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) based on localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), acting as biosensors. Monolayers of Au NPs were initially transferred onto a transparent polymer substrate using the LB technique. This substrate was then used as the base material for subsequent depositions of capping ligands, and eventually, the BoNT at different concentrations.

Form-stable phase change materials (FSPCMs) composed of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) encapsulated in SiO-modified expanded graphite (EG@SiO) were prepared and investigated for thermal energy storage behaviors. The modification of SiO on EG was done using a simple sol-gel method, and then the resulting EG@SiO was introduced to confine PEG at varying content (60-90 wt %). Surface properties (including microstructure, morphology, and functional groups), PEG adsorptivity, leakage-proof ability, and thermal energy storage of the prepared materials were thoroughly characterized and discussed.

Background And Objective: The Internet of medical things is enhancing smart healthcare services using physical wearable sensor-based devices connected to the Internet. Machine learning techniques play an important role in the core of these services for remotely consulting patients thanks to the pattern recognition from on-device data, which is transferred to the central servers from local devices. However, transferring personally identifiable information data to servers could become a source for hackers to steal from, manipulate and perform illegal activities.

By combining capacitance-voltage measurements, TCAD simulations, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, the impact of the work function of the gate metals Ti, Mo, Pd, and Ni on the defects in bulk HfO and at the HfO/InGaAs interfaces are studied. The oxidation at Ti/HfO is found to create the highest density of interface and border traps, while a stable interface at the Mo/HfO interface leads to the smallest density of traps in our sample. The extracted values of D of 1.

Context: The mechanical characteristics and deformation behavior of Cu material under the nanoscratching through a diamond tooltip on the workpiece are studied using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. Effects of scratching velocity, scratching depth, workpiece temperature, and grain size on the total force, shear strain, pile-up, shear stress, workpiece temperature, and phase transformation are investigated. The results reveal that increasing the scratching velocity leads to higher oscillation in total force, greater shear strain and shear stress, higher pile-up on the workpiece surface, and higher workpiece temperatures.

The heavy metal pollution is a serious environmental pollution around the globe and threatens the ecosystem. The physicochemical traits (pH, Electrical conductivity, hardness, NPK, Al, Fe, Cd, Cr, Pb, Mg, and Mn) of soil sample collected from the polluted site were analyzed and found that the most of the metal contents were beyond the acceptable limits of national standards. The metals such as Mn (1859.

This paper presents an adaptive backstepping-based model-free control (BSMFC) for general high-order nonlinear systems (HNSs) subject to disturbances and unstructured uncertainties to enhance the system tracking performance. The proposed methodology is constructed based on the backstepping control (BSC) with radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) -based time-delayed estimation (TDE) to overcome the obstacle of unknown system dynamics. Additionally, a command-filtered (CF) approach is involved to address the complexity explosion of the BSC design.

Although magnetic order is suppressed by a strong frustration, it appears in complex forms such as a cycloid or spin density wave in weakly frustrated systems. Herein, we report a weakly magnetically frustrated two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals material CrPSe. Polycrystalline CrPSe was synthesized at an optimized temperature of 700 °C to avoid the formation of any secondary phases (e.

Road dust samples were collected from different areas in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)-the largest city in Vietnam to explore pollution characteristics, ecological and human health risks, and sources of heavy metals (HMs). Results revealed the level of HMs found in the samples from residential and industrial zones of HCMC in the order of Mn > Zn > Cu > Cr > Pb > Ni > Co > As > Cd, Zn > Mn > Cu > Cr > Pb > Ni > Co > As > Cd. Due to the high enrichment of Cu, Zn in residential areas and Cu, Pb, Zn in industrial areas, the HM contamination in these areas remained moderate to severe.

Hexagonal NaYF4:Tm, Yb upconversion (UC) phosphors with excellent UC luminescence quantum efficiency and chemical stability meet demands for applications in bioimaging and anti-counterfeiting printing. In this work, a series of NaYF4:Tm, Yb upconversion microparticles (UCMPs) with different concentrations of Yb were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. Then, the UCMPs become hydrophilic through surface oxidation of the oleic acid (C-18) ligand to azelaic acid (C-9) using the Lemieux-von Rodloff reagent.

A cost-effective and environmentally friendly approach is proposed for producing N- and S-codoped multicolor-emission carbon dots (N- and S-codoped MCDs) at a mild reaction temperature (150 °C) and relatively short time (3 h). In this process, adenine sulfate acts as a novel precursor and doping agent, effectively reacting with other reagents such as citric acid, -aminosalicylic acid, and -phenylenediamine, even during solvent-free pyrolysis. The distinctive structures of reagents lead to the increased amount of graphitic nitrogen and sulfur doping in the N- and S-codoped MCDs.

This study presents an innovative approach to enhancing weld line strength in advanced polymer injection molding through applying gas-assisted mold temperature control, significantly increasing mold temperature beyond typical values observed in conventional processes. We investigate the effects of various heating times and frequencies on the fatigue strength of Polypropylene (PP) samples and the tensile strength of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) composite samples at different Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) percentages and heating times. Using gas-assisted mold heating, mold temperatures exceeding 210 °C are achieved, which represents a significant advancement compared to the standard mold temperatures of less than 100 °C.

Studies of organometallic reactions in living cells commonly rely on ensemble-averaged measurements, which can obscure the detection of reaction dynamics or location-specific behavior. This information is necessary to guide the design of bioorthogonal catalysts with improved biocompatibility, activity, and selectivity. By leveraging the high spatial and temporal resolution of single-molecule fluorescence microscopy, we have successfully captured single-molecule events promoted by Ru complexes inside live A549 human lung cells.

This study aims to explore the effects of Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) content on the weld line properties of Polypropylene (PP) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) blends. In PP/TPU blends, increasing the TPU content results in a significant decrease in the PP/TPU composite's ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and elongation values. Blends with 10 wt%, 15 wt%, and 20 wt% TPU and pure PP outperform blends with 10 wt%, 15 wt%, and 20 wt% TPU and recycled PP in terms of UTS value.
