Background:  Increasing evidence suggests that inflammatory biomarkers play a significant role in cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST). The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) are related to thrombotic conditions and indicators of systemic inflammation.

Objective:  To analyze the correlation between inflammatory biomarkers and the extent of thrombus, determined by the CVST-Score.

Does the Use of Mini-Incisions In Renal Transplantation Surgery Affect Postoperative Parameters: Single Center Experience.

Background: Kidney transplantation can be performed with different surgical approaches, such as conventional open kidney transplantation (CKT), minimally invasive kidney transplantation (MIKT), laparoscopic kidney transplantation, and robot-assisted kidney transplantation. Conventional open kidney transplantation is usually performed using a Gibson or hockey stick incision, may be associated with higher wound complication rates, and results in worse cosmetic outcomes compared with minimally invasive methods. Minimally invasive kidney transplantation is performed with a smaller skin incision than CKT but may result in limited surgical exposure.

Hand-assisted laparoscopic donor nephrectomy: 1864 cases in 15 years of experience.

Background: To evaluate hand-assisted laparoscopic donor nephrectomy (HALDN) in terms of intraoperative and postoperative results.

Methods: After institutional review board approval was obtained, a total of 1864 HALDN operations performed between March 2007 and January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Age, sex, body mass index (BMI), status of smoking and presence of previous abdominal surgery, laterality, operative time, transfusion requirement, port counts, length of extraction incision, time until mobilization, time until oral intake, donor serum creatinine levels before and one week after the surgery, length of postoperative hospital stay, intraoperative complications, and postoperative recovery and complications were recorded and statistically analyzed.

The effect of sarcopenia and serum myokines on prognosis and survival in cirrhotic patients: a multicenter cross-sectional study.

Objective: Sarcopenia is one of the most significant contributors to morbidity in patients with chronic liver disease. Serum myokines are potential biomarkers for detecting early sarcopenia. We aimed to investigate the relationship between serum myokines and cirrhosis-related mortality in the early stages of the disease.

Effects of stroke etiology on angiographic success in patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy.

Objective: In this study, we investigated the relationship between stroke etiology and recanalization success with endovascular treatment in patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Material And Methods: A total of 109 patients with anterior circulation stroke who underwent mechanical thrombectomy between August 2017 and June 2019 were included in the study retrospectively.
