A Clinico Mycological Study of Tinea Pseudoimbricata.

Introduction: Tinea pseudoimbricata is a variant of dermatophytosis characterized morphologically by concentric scaly rings resembling tinea imbricata with an culture isolate other than Trichophyton concentricum. To date, no large case report series is available.

Aim: To study the clinical profile and the fungus isolated in patients with tinea pseudoimbricata.

Infra-auricular Sinus: A Very Rare Case Presentation.

A 22-year-old male patient presented with right infra-auricular sinus since birth with preauricular swelling and discharge on and off since age of 3 years. He had no history of previous surgery. Patient noted frequent swelling and foul smelling discharge inferior to right tragus through a small puncta every 3-6 monthly, resulting in abscess formation and scaring around 1-1.

Application of Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix to Repair Traumatic Tympanic Membrane Perforations: A Pilot Study.

Trauma in the form of instrumentation, slap, blast, accident, and sporting injury can result in tympanic membrane (TM) perforations which spontaneously recover in 53-94%. The closure rates of TM perforation due to above causes do not vary greatly; however, some otolaryngologists prefer to perform immediate microsurgical procedures to accelerate the recovery process. Our aim is to study the efficacy of Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) Chemical Cauterization (50%) and Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) Plug Myringoplasty technique in healing traumatic tympanic membrane perforations.

[Endoscopic posterior nasal neurectomy].

Background: Surgical techniques for resistant chronic rhinitis (rhinorrhoea) vary, ranging from vidian neurectomy to post-nasal neurectomy. The techniques vary mainly on the basis of instrumentation, and the avoidance of post-operative epistaxis, transient hypoesthesia of the soft palate and dryness of the eye. Endoscopic visualisation, and cauterisation or resection of posterior nasal nerve branches, can prevent such complications.

Mini Inferior Turbinoplasty-Tunneling Technique.

Techniques for inferior turbinate reduction vary with various surgical methods, which differ in the approach of preservation of tissue from total turbinectomy to limited submucosal cauterization. Our preferred method to address hypertrophic inferior turbinate by mini turbinoplasty-tunneling technique are presented. Critical steps include creation of window in the inferior turbinate with a 4 mm microdebrider blade and removal of both inferior turbinate mucosal hypertrophy and bony component to convert a convex looking inferior turbinate to concave shape.

Migraine Related Vertigo.

Migraine related vertigo (MRV) is largely accepted in the vestibular community and probably represents the second most common cause of vertigo after benign positional vertigo by far exceeding Meniere's disease. The data on vestibular migraine management is still relatively poor, despite its enormous importance in daily practice. A 55-year old male presented with history of giddiness, imbalance, sweating and sensation of nausea with severe pulsating headache of one day duration.

Multimodality imaging of hemangiomas-pictorial essay.

Both hemangiomas and vascular malformations are endothelial malformations that closely resemble normal vessels and can be found in all organs of the human body. This pictorial essay encompasses a spectrum of imaging appearances of hemangiomas and vascular malformations. Familiarity of the MR and CT findings can help differentiate these lesions, to confirm the suspected diagnosis, classify the anomaly and document the associated abnormalities.
