Chitosan (CS) composite membranes were prepared using different biocompatible metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs): titanium dioxide (TiO); iron oxide (FeO); and aluminum oxide (AlO). For each nanoparticle, the CS-based composite membranes were prepared with two NPs contents in the CS solution, high (H) and low (L) NPs concentrations. To establish both concentrations, the NPs saturation point in the CS polymeric matrix was determined.

Recent developments in quantum computing have shed light on the shortcomings of the conventional public cryptosystem. Even while Shor's algorithm cannot yet be implemented on quantum computers, it indicates that asymmetric key encryption will not be practicable or secure in the near future. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has started looking for a post-quantum encryption algorithm that is resistant to the development of future quantum computers as a response to this security concern.

This paper applies Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as well as data analysis to gain a better understanding of the existing perception on the education system. 45,278 tweets were downloaded and processed. Using a lexicon-based approach, examining the most frequently used words, and estimating similarities between terms, we detected that a predominantly negative perception of the education system exists in most of the analysed countries.

The Small Punch Creep-Recovery Test (SPCRT) is a novel miniature test used to estimate the viscoelastic properties of polymers and biomaterials. The current investigation related to the SPCRT is limited to Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations and experimental tests on PVC. The aim of this investigation was focused on: (i) extending the experimental tests to other polymers with dissimilar viscoelastic properties; (ii) deepening the influence of non-linear viscoelastic properties in the estimation capabilities of the SPCRT; and (iii) developing a numerical methodology to estimate and take into account the viscoelastic recovery produced during the unloading step of compressive creep-recovery tests (CCRT) and SPCRTs.
