Background: A deficit in the processing of auditory information may underlie problems in understanding speech in the presence of background noise, degraded speech, and in following spoken instructions. Children with auditory processing disorders are challenged in the classroom because of ambient noise levels and maybe at risk for learning disabilities.
Purpose: 1) Set up and execute screening protocol for auditory processing performance (APP) in primary school children.

Introduction: In prosthetic treatment with fixed prosthetic constructions the reproduction of the dimension and form of natural teeth crowns is important for the preservation of normal articulation-occlusal relationship as well as for periodontal health. THE AIM of the study was to evaluate to what degree there is an attempt to preserve and reproduce the natural dental contour in everyday dental practice and its impact on plaque accumulation.
Materials And Methods: The study was performed in patients with different types of fixed prosthetic constructions - metal, metal-ceramic and the combination of metal/plastic with intact symmetrical homonymous teeth.

Saline extracts from human lenses were studied during prenatal eye development. Using immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis with a specific antiserum against total extract of human adult lenses and monospecific antisera against the individual crystallin classes, it was established that alpha and beta crystallins were present in extracts from eye lenses from 5-week-old embryos while gamma crystallins could be detected in extracts from embryonic lenses at the beginning of the 6th gestational week. When analyzed by isoelectric focussing all alpha and beta crystallin components were found in extracts from 8-week-old embryos, while those of gamma crystallins were shown to appear successively within the period between the 8th and 14th gestational week.

Long saphenous vein (LSV) is considered an optimal plastic material for arterial reconstructions in revascularization of the myocardium and in the femoral-popliteal segment. The authors analyze the results from the investigation of the operation material from 12 patients with obliterating atherosclerosis of the lower limbs in which reversed LSV has been previously used for arterial bypass grafts. Material is taken during the second operation performed between two days and 18 months after the first reconstruction.

Colloidal gold-labeled insulin complex was used for the ultrastructural visualization of insulin binding sites on the cell surface and to study the intracellular pathway of insulin. Thymic epithelial cells and thymic lymphoid cells from mammalian fetuses (mouse, rat, man) were investigated. The results show that all epithelial cells and some lymphoid ones bind insulin during fetal life.

Alterations in the erythrocyte rheology and the contents of activated free radical oxidation products (conjugated dienes, products of thiobarbituric acid and Schiff bases) in the acute phase of experimental thermic injury of the skin were studied. Erythrocyte flexibility reduction and erythrocyte aggregation increase correlated with elevated amounts of free radical oxidation products. Alpha-tocopherol avoided the accumulation of free radical oxidation products and improved both antioxidant defence and erythrocyte rheology.

Two groups of workers without clinical manifestations of intoxications were examined in the study. Workers in Group One were occupationally exposed to manganese (Mn) and in Group Two - to lead (Pb). Erythrocyte concentrations of adenyl nucleotides (AMP, ADP and ATP) as well as that of inorganic phosphorus (Pi) were determined.
