Background And Aim: Currently, there are no authorized medications specifically for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) treatment. Studies indicate that changes in gut microbiota can disturb intestinal balance and impair the immune system and metabolism, thereby elevating the risk of developing and exacerbating NAFLD. Despite some debate, the potential benefits of microbial therapies in managing NAFLD have been shown.

Introduction: Hepatitis C is a global health burden with significant morbidity and mortality. It primarily affects the liver and causes acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Common modes of transmission of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection are blood transfusion, needlestick injury, and mother-fetus transmission, among which transmission, blood transfusion is one of the most important causes.

Aims: Given the epidemic proportions of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) globally, it's crucial to comprehensively understand the factors influencing its management. The gut microbiome, known for its influence on various aspects of health, has emerged as a potential regulator of blood pressure in individuals with T2DM. This umbrella review aimed to consolidate the findings of existing meta-analyses investigating the impact of gut microbiome modulation on systolic and diastolic blood pressure in T2DM patients.

Although the promising effects of these compounds have been observed in the management of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), the exact effects and the mechanisms of action are yet to be understood. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate how gut microbiota modulation affects anthropometric indices of NAFLD patients to achieve a comprehensive summary of current evidence-based knowledge.

Background: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is a form of acute kidney injury (AKI) occurring in patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, such as coronary angiography (CAG) or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Although the conventional criterion for CIN detection involves a rise in creatinine levels within 72 h after contrast media injection, several limitations exist in this definition. Up to now, various meta-analyses have been undertaken to assess the accuracy of different biomarkers of CIN prediction.

Introduction: Topical steroid damaged face (TSDF) is a common occurrence in the current scenario, where darker - skinned people believe having lighter-colored skin improves their prospects in all aspects of life. This has led to the abuse of topical corticosteroids with unrealistic expectations driven by ignorance of the adverse effects, particularly in the Indian population. As TSDF is virtually an epidemic in India and there is no treatment protocol for dermatologists, we conducted this study to find out what dermatologists prescribe and, in turn, serve as a foundation to develop guidelines in the future.

Cardiovascular manifestations like bradycardia, hypotension, fluctuation of blood pressure, and supraventricular arrhythmia are common in acute spinal cervical injury above the C6 level and are the major cause of mortality and morbidity in them. Ventricular tachycardia (VT) and fibrillation have only been reported in a few cases, but polymorphic VT (PMVT) has not been reported. We report a very rare case of acute cervical spinal cord injury patient who developed PMVT in the setting of normal QT interval degenerating to ventricular fibrillation, causing cardiac arrest before surgery.

Adenosine is a widely used pharmacologic agent in the field of cardiology, predominantly for the termination of supraventricular tachycardias and diagnostic purposes. Most of the side effects are short-lasting due to its very short half-life. Fatal complications of adenosine are rare but can include ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole.

Objectives: Malnutrition and sarcopenia have been reported to adversely affect the outcome of patients with cirrhosis of the liver. There is an emerging body of evidence suggesting malnutrition and sarcopenia increase the risk of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) and mortality after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). The current systematic review aims to determine whether the body of evidence supports an association between nutritional status and post-TIPS outcomes in patients with cirrhosis.

Radicular cysts are the most common cystic lesions that affect the jaws, which, though mostly asymptomatic, can be seen radiographically as an oval or pear-shaped unilocular radiolucency in the periapical region. Nonsurgical root canal procedures and periapical surgery followed by placement of bone substitute and bioceramic root-end filling material is generally the treatment of choice. This case report highlights the endosurgical management of long-standing trauma that led to a radicular cyst with respect to three maxillary anterior teeth in a young adult.

Background And Aim: The impact of chronic low-grade inflammation in the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has been studied widely. Previous studies showed gut pathogens' effects on inflammation development in NAFLD patients; hence, hypothetically, gut microbial therapy by administration of probiotics, synbiotics, and prebiotics may alleviate inflammation in these individuals. Several studies were performed in this regard; however, conflicting results were obtained.
