Electronic address:

Chlorogenic acid (CA) performs numerous bioactivities; however, its usage is currently limited because of low stability and poor bioaccessibility. In this study, a amylopectin-CA complex was formed. FTIR studies confirmed that the new complex formed via hydrogen and CH-π bonding, and was involved with the reorganization of the skeletal α-1,4 glucosidic linkages of amylopectin.

A visible light-induced cascade cyclization of thioamides with alkynes was developed to synthesize 1,3-thiozoles. The sulfur radical generated from thioamide via the single-electron transfer (SET) pathway was promoted by photocatalysis as a key intermediate in this reaction. When bromoalkynes were used as the substrate, the self-coupling products 1,1-dibromo-1-en-3-ynes were obtained in moderate yields, and an energy transfer pathway for this transformation promoted by visible-light photocatalysis was proposed.

A biomass nitrogen and sulfur codoped carbon dots (NS-Cdots) was prepared by a simple and clean hydrothermal method using leek, and was employed as efficient fluorescent probes for sensitive detection of organophosphorus pesticides (OPs). The leek-derived NS-Cdots emitted blue fluorescence, but was quenched by HO. Due to acetylcholinesterase/choline oxidase-based cascade enzymatic reaction that produces HO and the inhibition effect of OPs on acetylcholinesterase activity, a NS-Cdots-based fluorescence "off-on" method to detect OPs-dichlorvos (DDVP) was developed.

J Food Biochem

January 2020

Guangxi Talent Highland of Preservation and Deep Processing Research in Fruit and Vegetable, Hezhou University, Hezhou, China.

To obtain better qualities of litchi fruits, fruit pulps were subjected to ultrasonic treatment (UT) followed by drying. Samples were subjected to UT at 3 W/g for 10 min with distilled or ice water and compared with non-UT dried samples. After drying, vitamin C, total phenolic content, color, texture, nutrition, microbial load, drying kinetics, and shelf life were assessed.

A molecularly imprinted sensor was fabricated for alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) using an ionic liquid as a functional monomer. Ionic liquid possesses many excellent characteristics which can improve the sensing performances of the imprinted electrochemical sensor. To demonstrate this purpose, 1-[3-(N-cystamine)propyl]-3-vinylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquid [(Cys)VIMBF] was synthesized and used as a functional monomer to fabricate an AFP imprinted polymerized ionic liquid film on a gold nanoparticle modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface at room temperature.

Electronic address:

Macroporous resins have been employed in the effective recovery of flavonoids from plants. In this study, S8 polar resins were used to recover flavonoids and procyanidins from lotus seedpods. Adsorption kinetics, isotherms, and thermodynamics studies revealed that the adsorption process involved physico-chemical interactions, including flavonoid-resin and flavonoid-flavonoid electrostatic interactions, π-π aromatic stacking, moderate and strong hydrogen bonding, and repulsive forces.

Guangxi Key Laboratory of Calcium Carbonate Resources Comprehensive Utilization, College of Materials and Environmental Engineering, Hezhou University Hezhou 542899 China

A new adamantane-based ionic liquid, (11-(((-adamantane-1-carbonyl)oxy)undecyl)-1-methylimidazol-3-ium bromide (AD-Cim), was synthesized from 1-adamantanecarboxylic acid and observed that it can aggregate into micelles in aqueous solution. A number of experiments were conducted to understand the self-assembly of supra-amphiphiles building block fabricated by β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and adamantane-based ionic liquid at diverse molar ratios. Studies revealed that host-guest interaction between the adamantane group and β-CD occurred and AD-Cim@1β-CD building block formed when same amount β-CD was added.

A facile single hydrothermal method was developed to synthetize P,N codoped carbon dots (P,N/CDs), which show strong and stable fluorescence, good water solubility, low toxicity and good biocompatibility. Hence, a novel and efficient "off-on" P,N/CDs fluorescent probe was developed for the highly sensitive detection of lipoic acid (LA) for the first time. The fluorescence of the P,N/CDs was quenched by Cu forming a P,N/CDs-Cu complex, which acted as the "off" process, but Cu could be removed by LA, due to stronger chelating between LA and Cu, forming a more stable complex, which recovered the fluorescence of the P,N/CDs, in order to achieve the "on" process.

The Ca-doped carbon dots (CD) exhibited strong catalysis of HAuCl-HO reaction to produce gold nanoparticle (AuNP), using Vitoria blue 4R (VB4r) as molecular probe, it appeared a strong surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) peak at 1615 cm in the AuNP nanosol substrate. When catalyst CD increased, the SERS peak enhanced linearly owing to AuNPs increasing, that is, the AuNP concentration is linear to SERS signal. Potassium pyroantimonate (PA) ligand can adsorb on CD surface to inhibit the catalysis and cause the SERS peak decreasing.
