Key Laboratory of Disaster Prevention and Structural Safety of China Ministry of Education, School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Guangxi University, Nanning, 530004, China.

An efficient linear elastic iterative method is proposed for the stability ultimate capacity of equal-leg angle towers, using an elastic modulus adjustment strategy in this paper. The angle steel stability generalized yield function (GYF) of AS/NZS4600 is selected, on which a precise homogeneous generalized yield function (HGYF) is developed through dimensionless analysis and regression. Based on the HGYF, the element bearing ratio is proposed as a dynamic threshold for distinguishing high-stress and low-stress elements in equal-leg angle elements.

Guangxi Key Laboratory of Drug Discovery and Optimization, Guangxi Engineering Research Center for Pharmaceutical Molecular Screening and Druggability Evaluation, School of Pharmacy, Guilin Medical University, Guilin 541199, PR China. Electronic address:

Resonance Light Scattering (RLS) is a sensitive analytical technology hindered by its susceptibility to impurities in complex samples. This study introduces a combination of RLS with a high-efficiency sample preparation device, the Miniaturized Thermal-Assisted Purge-and-Trap (MTAPT), enhancing RLS's effectiveness in complex sample analysis. Specifically, we utilized MTAPT-RLS for the indirect screening of illegal hydrochloride drug additions in health products, based on three considerations: the transformation of bound HCl in hydrochloride drugs into volatile HCl under strong acid and heat; the minimal Cl content in health products for taste purposes; and the detectability of Cl ions by RLS upon the addition of AgNO and a stabilizer.

Synergistic Effect of Anchoring Transitional/Interstitial Sites on Boosting Structural and Electrochemical Stability of O3-Type Layered Sodium Oxides.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

December 2024

Guangxi Key Laboratory of Low-Carbon Energy Materials, School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guangxi Normal University, Guilin 541004, China.

O3-type layered oxides are considered promising cathode materials for next-generation high-energy-density sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). However, they face challenges, such as low rate capacity and poor cycling stability, which arise from structural deformation, sluggish Na diffusion kinetics, and interfacial side reactions. Herein, a synergistic substitution strategy for transitional and interstitial sites was adopted to improve the structure stability and Na diffusion kinetics of the O3-type NaNiFeMnO.

Effective real-time cell tracking and tumor growth monitoring are important for precise diagnosis and therapy of tumors and can also be used to monitor biological processes. In this study, a facile, green microwave method was developed to synthesize biomass-derived red emission carbon dots (RCDs) using the ethanolic extract of holly leaves. Owing to the advantages of the prepared RCDs, such as near infrared emission, stability, strong fluorescence intensity, excellent biocompatibility, penetration of thick tissues, avoiding background fluorescence interference, and improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio of biological imaging, they were applied to cell imaging, real-time cell tracking and tumor growth monitoring.

Since each material has a unique ability to lose or obtain electrons, specific triboelectric signals are produced when triboelectric materials are in contact with different objects. Triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) devices show great potential for use as tactile sensors; nevertheless, analyzing the structure-function relationship of functionalized triboelectric sensing interfaces under environmental conditions and improving the sensing stability and accuracy through the design of hydrophobic structure on the triboelectric material surface remain major challenges in the development of intelligent sensing networks. Compared with the traditional rigid micronanostructure, the elastic micronanostructure strategy is applied to achieve both hydrophobicity and stability of triboelectric materials based on the template method in this work.

November 2024

MOE Key Laboratory for Cellular Dynamics, Hefei National Center for Physical Sciences at Microscale, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, PR China.

In this study, a carbazole-based mitochondria-targeted colorimetric and NIR ratiometric fluorescent probe 1 for biothiols based on the thiol-chromene click reaction was subtly designed and synthesized. Upon interaction with biothiols (Cys, Hcy and GSH), the absorption of 1 shifted from 496 nm to 388 nm, while its fluorescence spectrum shifted from 650 nm to 530 nm. These transformations were accompanied by a visible color change from pink to colorless under visible light and from red to green when observed under a 365 nm UV lamp, which can be attributed to the click reaction of biothiols with the α,β-unsaturated ketone of the chromene moiety, subsequent pyran ring-opening and phenol formation as well as 1,6-elimination of a -hydroxybenzyl moiety yielding 2.

Applying the mixed-linker strategy in synthesizing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has drawn considerable attention as a heterogeneous catalyst owing to their easy synthesis and different functional ligands in their frameworks. Following this strategy, we have developed a mixed linker Zr(IV)-based MOF, [ZrO(OH)(FUM)(PZDC-NO)] (PZDC-NO = 4-nitro-3,5-pyrazoledicarboxylic acid, FUM = fumaric acid) denoted as MOF-801(PZDC-NO) synthesized via this strategy which possess an electron-withdrawing group (-NO) on secondary linkers. The MOF-801(PZDC-NO) has been fully characterized via various analyses, such as Fourier transform infrared, powder X-ray diffraction, C/H nuclear magnetic resonance, XPS, TGA, and N adsorption/desorption, SEM, EDX, etc.

Taking inspiration from the chemical unit co-substitution strategy, high-performance tunable (Lu Ca)(Ga Ge)O:6%Cr (x = 0-3) phosphors are designed with an emission center from 704 to 780 nm and a broadest full width at half maximum (FWHM) of up to 172 nm by introducing Ca and Ge ions into the garnet structure. In particular, LuGaO:6%Cr demonstrates an anti-thermal quenching phenomenon (I = 113.
