The cardioprotective effects of new derivatives of glutamic acid (glufimet) and GABA (mefargin) were studied in rats exposed to acute alcohol intoxication (AAI) under conditions of selective blockade of inducible NO-synthase (iNOS). AAI induced a pronounced decrease in the contractile function of the myocardium during exercise tests (load by volume, test for adrenoreactivity, isometric exercise), caused mitochondrial dysfunction and increased processes of lipid peroxidation (LPO) in heart cells. A decrease in NO production during iNOS inhibition and AAI improved the respiratory function of mitochondria, a decreased the level of LPO products, and increased mitochondrial superoxide dismutase activity of heart cells.

The article discusses the fertilization process, the nucleus position in the primary cell, specifics of early endosperm development, and the principles of its classification. A new, refined classification was proposed for endosperm development modes to include three hierarchic levels: types, subtypes, and variations. Two types were distinguished by the morphogenetic potentials of the micropylar and chalazal primary cells: cellular (karyokinesis is completed with cytokinesis in both cells) and helobial (only karyokinesis takes place in both cells, and the chalazal cell sometimes remains mononucleate).

The two-week use of special breathing exercises in combination with the Cortexin peptide bioregulator optimizes the functional state and increases the professional performance of older teachers more effectively compared to the single use of a pharmacological preparation. The maximum effect is noted immediately after the end of the course use of special breathing exercises and the peptide bioregulator and lasts for two months. The results obtained open up prospects for the use of breathing exercises to enhance and prolong the nootropic drugs and antihypoxants antistress and geroprotective effects.

Sleep-disordered breathing is associated with sleep fragmentation and reduced blood oxygenation due to apnea and hypopnea episodes. Multiple studies indicate that obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) can have negative impact on cognitive functioning, primarily executive functions, attention, and episodic memory. The attention is also focused on cognition in patients with neurologic and psychiatric comorbidities.

We evaluated individual risk factors of the development of alcohol preference in a model of voluntary alcohol consumption. Drinking behavior was estimated in the two-bottle test, and other behavioral features were studied in the open field test, test for social interaction, and marble burying test. The low adaptive capacity of an animal, which was manifested in a shorter time spent in the center of the open field, and low consumption of ethanol when the animal first tasted it were the leading factors of the subsequent preference of alcohol under the conditions of free choice.

It is shown that the two-week use of self-massage of the head and neck in combination with the pharmacological drug Noopept improves the functional state and increases the professional performance of elderly teachers compared to single use of nootropic drug. The greatest increase in the functional state and professional performance was noted immediately after the course of self-massage of the head and neck in combination with the pharmacological drug Noopept. The combined effect of self-massage and nootropic drug on the functional state and professional performance indicators are maintained for 1-2 months, and by the end of the third month they are approaching the initial values.
