Background: Previous studies have shown that sleep quality plays an essential role in primary headaches to varying degrees. However, it is unclear precisely whether gut microbiota plays a critical role in mediating changes in sleep quality and affecting primary headaches.
Methods: We utilized Mendelian randomization (MR) to examine the causal relationships between sleep quality and primary headaches.
Background: The Mendelian randomization approach has emerged as a powerful tool, leveraging genetic variations as natural random experiments to minimize confounding and infer causality with unique advantages. Previous research has highlighted the crucial roles of gut microbiotas and inflammatory factors in mental-behavioral disorders, albeit to varying degrees. However, the precise causal relationship between gut microbiotas and mental-behavioral disorders remains elusive, and the potential role of inflammatory factors as mediators in this process is unclear.

Background: Given the prevalent utilization of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine (ITCWM) in the management of acute pancreatitis, the majority of studies have concentrated on severe cases, lacking robust evidence-based medical research. Real-world investigations can provide an objective assessment of the clinical effectiveness of combining traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine. Consequently, relying on real-world research, we intend to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the combined approach in treating mild to moderate acute pancreatitis.

N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most prevalent modification found in eukaryotic RNA and played a significant role in various cancers. However, the mechanism by which m6A modification influences cervical cancer (CC) tumorigenesis remains unclear. Therefore, we aim to elucidate the role and mechanism of METTL3 in CC progression.

Objective: To analyze the main active components and potential molecular mechanism of Yishen Tongluo Prescription (YTP) in the treatment of male infertility based on network pharmacological technology.
Methods: We searched and sorted the main active components of YTP and their individual potential targets in the databases of Systematic Pharmacology of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Bioinformatics Analysis Tool of the Molecular Mechanism of TCM, and screened the targets related to male infertility diseases in the databases of Genecards, DisGeNET and OMIM. We made a Venn diagram by intersecting the predicted targets of YTP and those of male infertility diseases, constructed visualized networks for the association of the intersection targets and protein-protein interaction (PPI) using the Cytoscape software and STRING platform respectively, and conducted gene ontology (GO) and KEGG enrichment analyses using the DAVID database and R language "Cluster Profiler" software package respectively.

Background: Observational studies have shown an association between skin microbiota and alopecia areata (AA), but the causal connection remains ambiguous.
Methods: We obtained data on skin microbiota and AA from summary statistics of Genome-Wide Association Studies and applied statistical methods from Mendelian randomization (MR) to assess causal relationships. Additionally, we investigated whether the skin microbiota acts as a mediator in the pathway from gut microbiota to AA.

To determine the independent risk factors of cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) parameters related to adverse prognostic events within 5 years in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and establish a prediction model for the occurrence of adverse events within 5 years to provide a reference for cardiac rehabilitation training. From August 2015 to December 2021, patients who underwent PCI for AMI and completed CPET within 1-2 weeks after surgery before discharge from the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of Zhengzhou Central Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University, Henan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Anyang District Hospital were selected as participants. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to screen for independent risk factors associated with 5-year adverse events.

The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS), a prominent intracellular DNA sensor in mammalian cells, controls the innate immune response and the stimulator of interferon genes (STING)-mediated synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as type-I interferon (IFN-I). For decades, IFN-I has been hypothesized to be essential in the development of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a chronic multisystem autoimmunity characterized by immune complex (IC) deposition in small vessels. Recent findings revealed that the activation of the cGAS-STING pathway by self-DNA would propagate the autoimmune responses via upregulating IFN-I production in SLE.

Objective: To establish a diagnostic model for scleroderma by combining machine learning and artificial neural network based on mitochondria-related genes.
Methods: The GSE95065 and GSE59785 datasets of scleroderma from GEO database were used for analyzing expressions of mitochondria-related genes, and the differential genes were identified by Random forest, LASSO regression and SVM algorithms. Based on these differential genes, an artificial neural network model was constructed, and its diagnostic accuracy was evaluated by 10-fold crossover verification and ROC curve analysis using the verification dataset GSE76807.

Background: Malignant ascites is one of the severe complications of hepatocellular carcinoma, which can be regarded as a unique tumor microenvironment of hepatocellular carcinoma. The identification of novel biomarkers in malignant ascites could be crucial to differentiate patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and cirrhotic ascites.
Objective: The study aimed to distinguish the metabolomics of malignant ascites in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma from that of non-malignant ascites (cirrhotic ascites).

Background: Despite being one of the most prevalent sleep disorders, obstructive sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome (OSAHS) has limited information on its immunologic foundation. The immunological underpinnings of certain major psychiatric diseases have been uncovered in recent years thanks to the extensive use of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and genotyping techniques using high-density genetic markers (, SNP or CNVs). But this tactic hasn't yet been applied to OSAHS.

Male fertility and metabolic disorders, including obesity and diabetes, are closely connected. Since hyperuricemia and metabolic syndrome are strongly related, male fertility and hyperuricemia may, to some degree, be associated. According to recent studies, hyperuricemia imposes various effects on sex hormones, semen quality, and male erectile dysfunction.

Background: Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a prevalent emotional disorder that has received relatively little attention regarding its immunological basis. Recent years have seen the widespread use of high-density genetic markers such as SNPs or CNVs for genotyping, as well as the advancement of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) technologies, which have facilitated the understanding of immunological mechanisms underlying several major psychiatric disorders. Despite these advancements, the immunological basis of GAD remains poorly understood.
