School of Ecology and Environment, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, 450001, China. Electronic address:

Reclaimed water recharge into rivers is an important supplementary approach to address water resource shortage in arid and semi-arid areas worldwide. However, the ecology impacts of reclaimed water recharge on the rivers are still unknown, especially for the microbial assemble and species coexistence in different seasons. Here, the evolution of microbiome and its response to different reasons in the Jialu River, which was subjected to long-term reclaimed water recharge, is investigated by using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and multivariate statistical methods.

Polyimide yarn as a kind of high performance fiber material has to improve the adhesion between the material surface and the resin in order to get a deeper application. The surface of polyimide yarn is modified by low temperature plasma treatment, and the effect of plasma treatment parameters on the adhesion between polyimide yarn and polypropylene resin is studied. By comparing the extraction force on the surface of polyimide yarn before and after treatment, the effect of plasma treatment parameters such as treatment time, processing gas and treating power on yarn adhesion is investigated.

Eutrophication of shallow lakes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River has become an increasingly serious problem. In this study, we investigated the temporal and spatial variations in nutrient loads (nitrogen, N and phosphorus, P) in the Changdang Lake Catchment located to the northwest of Lake Taihu through field sampling and laboratory analysis in 2016-2017. The results show the severity of the N and P pollution in the Changdang Lake catchment.

School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shangluo University, Shangluo 726000, People's Republic of China. School of Science, Henan Institute of Engineering, Zhengzhou 451191, People's Republic of China.

Based on the effective spin-ladder model, we compute the negativity and geometric quantum discord (GQD) between two edge spins in zigzag graphene nanoribbons (ZGNRs) thermalized with a reservoir at temperature T (canonical ensemble). The results show that the entanglement only exists in antiferromagnetically coupled spin pairs, and completely vanishes between any two spins at the same ribbon edge. Intriguingly, the dominant entanglement always occurs in the nearest inter-edge coupled spin pairs, which is very robust even at room temperature.

Quantum dissonance in chiral graphene nanoribbons.

J Phys Condens Matter

May 2019

School of Science, Henan Institute of Engineering, Zhengzhou 451191, People's Republic of China.

Based on the effective spin-ladder model, we study the properties of quantum dissonance (Q) between two edge spins in chiral graphene nanoribbons (CGNRs) thermalized with a reservoir at temperature T, and discuss the influences of relative location between two edge spins, ribbon width, temperature, and on-site Coulomb repulsion (U) on Q. The results show that Q is widely present in Wannier edge states. For intra-edge coupled spin pairs, quantum entanglement (E) is zero, but there still exists considerable value of Q.

College of Science, Henan Institute of Engineering, Xinzheng 451191, People's Republic of China. Department of Physics, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, People's Republic of China.

We have investigated the critical behavior near the ferromagnetic transition of TlCoS single crystals and the magnetic properties of Tl(CoNi)S by means of magnetization measurements. The obtained critical exponents β, γ and δ of TlCoS could basically satisfy the scaling equations and are found very close to the prediction of the tricritical mean-field theory. 5[Formula: see text] Ni doping drives the system to an antiferromagnetic ground state which is unstable to magnetic field, yielding metamagnetic transition.

Key Laboratory for Neuroinformation of Ministry of Education, School of Life Science and Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu 610054, China.

Electroencephalogram signals and the states of subjects are nonstationary. To track changing states effectively, an adaptive calibration framework is proposed for the brain-computer interface (BCI) with the motion-onset visual evoked potential (mVEP) as the control signal. The core of this framework is to update the training set adaptively for classifier training.

Key Laboratory of Xinjiang Endemic Phytomedicine Resources, Pharmacy School, Shihezi University, Shihezi 832002, Xinjiang, China.

As a G-protein coupled receptor, the 5-hydroxytryptamine 2A (5-HT) receptor is known for its critical role in the cognitive, behavioural and physiological functions, and thus is a primary molecular target to treat psychiatric diseases, including especially depression. With purpose to explore the structural traits affecting the inhibitory activity, currently a dataset of 109 arylpiperazine derivatives as promising 5-HT antagonists was built, based on which the ligand-based three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR) study by using both comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) and comparative molecular similarity indices analysis (CoMSIA) approaches was carried out. The resultant optimal CoMSIA model displays proper validity and predictability with cross-validated correlation coefficient ² = 0.

College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou 450001, PR China. Electronic address:

Pillararene bonded stationary phases for high performance liquid chromatography were prepared using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane as coupling reagent. The structure of the new materials was characterized by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. The chromatographic performance and retention mechanism of the new stationary phases were evaluated in reversed-phase mode compared with C using different solute probes including Tanaka test solutes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phenols and aromatic positional isomers.

On the basis of the definite retention mechanism proven by the stationary phase for high-performance liquid chromatography, tetraazacalix[2]arene[2]triazine featuring multiple recognition sites was assessed as a solid-phase extraction (SPE) selector. The applicability of its silica support was used for the extraction of trace amounts of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and Cu(2+) in aqueous samples, followed by high-performance liquid chromatography fluorometric and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometric determination. On the basis of the π-π interaction with PAHs and the chelating interaction with Cu(2+), the simultaneous extraction of PAHs and Cu(2+) and stepwise elution through tuning the eluent were successfully achieved, respectively.

Department of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Engineering, Peking University, Beijing 100871, P. R. China.

Fibers made from carbon nanotubes or graphene are strong and conductive; encoding helical structures into these fibers may render useful properties such as high stretchability. Here, we directly spin freestanding graphene oxide (GO) films into helical fibers consisting of uniformly arranged loops with tunable diameters, under controlled environmental humidity. Reduced GO fibers with a helical shape are stretched elastically with a reversible electrical resistance change for many strain cycles.

Conventional straight fibers spun from carbon nanotubes have rather limited deformability; creating a spiral structure holds the promise to break this shape restriction and enhance structural flexibility. Here, we report up to one meter-length threads containing purely single-walled nanotubes twisted into spiral loops (about 1.3 × 10(5) loops per meter) with tunable fiber diameters and electrical conductivity.

Breast cancer susceptibility gene 2 (BRCA2)-a human tumor suppressor gene-is related to various malignancies such as breast and ovarian cancer. This gene can induce the key protein RAD51 recombinase, which is involved in homologous recombination with single-stranded DNA in the human body and can regulate RAD51 to complete the repair of damaged double-stranded DNA. Eight highly conserved BRC repeat motifs in BRCA2 protein serve as sites for the interaction between BRCA2 and RAD51.
