The present study investigated the patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in chronic phase (CP-CML) who had been on the first- line Imatinib Mesylate (IM) therapy for a period of 84 months. : This retrospective study was conducted in 295 newly-diagnosed CP-CML patients(age >18 years) who were admitted to the Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation Research Center, Shariati Hospital, Tehran during 1 January, 2009 to 30 December, 2016. Response to treatment was evaluated by molecular response assessment.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of a proposed bevacizumab biosimilar to those of the reference product in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC).
Methods: This Phase III, multicenter, randomized, double-blind (patient- and assessor-blind), active-controlled, 2-armed, parallel-group, noninferiority trial was conducted in patients with histologically verified colorectal cancer with evidence of at least 1 metastasis. Patients with mCRC were randomized 2:1 to receive 5 mg/kg IV of either study drug plus FOLFIRI-3 (with repeated irinotecan 100 mg/m 60-min infusion on day 3) or the reference drug plus FOLFIRI-3 every 2 weeks for 1 year.

Natural killer (NK) cells are innate lymphocytes that eliminate infected and transformed cells. They discriminate healthy from diseased tissue through killer cell Ig-like receptor (KIR) recognition of HLA class I ligands. Directly impacting NK cell function, polymorphism associates with infection control and multiple autoimmune and pregnancy syndromes.

Background: Nonrheumatic valvular diseases are common; however, no studies have estimated their global or national burden. As part of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017, mortality, prevalence, and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) for calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD), degenerative mitral valve disease, and other nonrheumatic valvular diseases were estimated for 195 countries and territories from 1990 to 2017.
Methods: Vital registration data, epidemiologic survey data, and administrative hospital data were used to estimate disease burden using the Global Burden of Disease Study modeling framework, which ensures comparability across locations.

Purpose: High dietary acid load (DAL) may have an influence on anthropometric indices. Given that there was no study on the association between DAL and anthropometric indices children and adolescents, the current study was aimed to examine the association between DAL and anthropometric indices in Iranian children and adolescents.
Methods: Students aged 6-18 years were recruited using a multi-stage, cluster sampling method from 30 provinces of Iran.

Background: As global rates of mortality decrease, rates of non-fatal injury have increased, particularly in low Socio-demographic Index (SDI) nations. We hypothesised this global pattern of non-fatal injury would be demonstrated in regard to bony hand and wrist trauma over the 27-year study period.
Methods: The Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2017 was used to estimate prevalence, age-standardised incidence and years lived with disability for hand trauma in 195 countries from 1990 to 2017.

We have investigated the effect of photobiomodulation on the recovery of neurosensory function of the lip and chin after bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO). Laser irradiation was applied with a GaAs diode laser (continuous wave 980nm wavelength, power 100mW, and energy density 12J/cm). It was maintained within a 0.

Montmorillonite (Mt) nanosheets are used in pharmaceutical products as both excipient and active ingredients. In addition, Mt can be used as a nanocarrier for oral delivery of drugs, including chemotherapy drugs, and as an embolic agent for tumor arterial embolization. It is noteworthy that, there is few conflicting evidence on the intrinsic antitumor activity of Mt.

Background: Drowning is a leading cause of injury-related mortality globally. Unintentional drowning (International Classification of Diseases (ICD) 10 codes W65-74 and ICD9 E910) is one of the 30 mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive causes of injury-related mortality in the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study. This study's objective is to describe unintentional drowning using GBD estimates from 1990 to 2017.

Background: Although miR-410 acts as a cancer inducer in colorectal cancer, there is limited data on the clinical implications of miR-410 expression levels in patients. We hypothesized a link between miR-410 expression and its potential clinical values in patients with colorectal cancer.
Material And Methods: 120 colorectal cancer tissue specimens and 120 adjacent non-tumour tissues were obtained.

Introduction: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a type of blood disorder that exhibits uncontrolled growth and reduced ability to undergo apoptosis. Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) is a family member of transcription factors which promotes carcinogenesis in most human cancers. This effect on AML is accomplished through deregulation of several critical genes, such as B cell lymphoma-extra-large (BCL-XL) which is anti-apoptotic protein.

Art therapy as a psychotherapy method using art, and psychodrama as a therapeutic method using role play, have different roots, principles, techniques and different effect mechanisms and advantages. Integrated psychotherapies are aimed to maximise each of the component advantages, as well as minimising disadvantages. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to develop a new integrated psychotherapy method, named psycho-art-drama (PAD) for hospitalised children with cancer and testing its effectiveness.

Hematopoetic stem cell transplantation is considered as a standard treatment for cancer patients to stay hopeful toward treatment outcome. However, these patients experience many complications which might affect different aspects of their life. The aim of this study was to investigate the lived experience of patients after hematopoetic stem cell transplantation and introduce supportive care strategies.

Background: Calcitriol, the active metabolite of vitamin D, is an essential regulator in the hematopoiesis and immunity. However, knowledge revealing its influence on the immune and hematologic reconstitution after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in clinical trials is very limited.
Objectives: The effects of calcitriol on short-term and long-term hematopoietic recovery, relapse-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) in multiple myeloma, Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma following autologous peripheral blood HSCT were assessed.

Prunusarmeniaca is a member of the Rosacea family. The most important ingredient of this family is amygdalin that is believed to have anti-tumor and analgesic properties. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anti-proliferative effects of Armeniacae semen extract on the acute leukemia, NALM-6, and KG-1 cell lines, and investigate the effect of the extract on apoptosis of these cell lines and caspase-3 gene expression.

Gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC), the most common malignancy of the stomach, is the fourth most common and the second cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Although HER family plays a cardinal role in tumorigenesis of GAC, trastuzumab is the only approved anti-HER drug for this malignancy and development of resistance to trastuzumab is inevitable. Additionally, single-targeted HER inhibitors have demonstrated limited activity in GAC.
