Prostate cancer ranks among the most prevalent malignancies affecting males globally. This study sought to document the incidence, deaths and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) that were due to prostate cancer in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and its 21 countries, from 1990 to 2021. We analysed publicly accessible data from the Global Burden of Disease 2021 study to present findings on the incidence, deaths, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) associated with prostate cancer.

Breast cancer (BC) commonly expresses estrogen receptors (ERs); hence, endocrine therapy targeting ERs is considered an effective treatment. Tamoxifen (TAM) resistance is an essential clinical complication leading to cancer progression and metastasis. This study investigated MicroRNAs (miRNAs) potentially implicated in drug resistance (miR-182-3p, miR-382-3p) or sensitivity (miR-93, miR- 142- 3p).

Objectives: This study developed a drug delivery system (DDS) using folic acid (FA)-functionalized chitosan (CS) and poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanocarriers for targeted sodium butyrate (NB) delivery to leukemia cells (NALM6). The goal was to enhance NB's therapeutic efficacy while reducing its cytotoxicity to non-malignant cells.
Methods: FA-CS-PLGA nanocarriers were synthesized and characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), dynamic light scattering (DLS), zeta potential analysis, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).

is a microaerophilic gram-negative bacterium infecting around half of the world's population. Despite its well-known role in gastric malignancies, its impact on esophageal cancer comes with a complex paradox. Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain its observed lack of carcinogenic activity in the esophagus, including the trigger of anti-inflammatory pathways, promoting atrophic gastritis, and esophageal microbiome modulation.

Purpose: The study aimed to investigate the connection between an intronic variant in the ABO gene (rs657152) and the severity of COVID-19 in terms of clinical symptoms, haematological complications, inflammatory markers, and lung lesions.
Methods: After applying exclusion criteria, the study included 240 patients divided into 3 groups: 88 Outpatients, 84 Ward-hospitalized, and 68 ICU-admitted/failed patients. The tetra-ARMS PCR method was used to genotype ABO polymorphism in the patient.

Traditional treatment strategies for recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and recurrent implantation failure (RIF) often result in limited success, placing significant emotional and financial burdens on couples. However, novel approaches such as diagnostic gene profiling, cell therapy, stem cell-derived exosome therapy, and pharmacogenomics offer promising, personalized treatments. Combining traditional treatments with precision and regenerative medicine may enhance the efficacy of these approaches and improve pregnancy outcomes.

Leukemia remains a major therapeutic challenge in clinical oncology. Despite significant advancements in treatment modalities, leukemia remains a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, as the current conventional therapies are accompanied by life-limiting adverse effects and a high risk of disease relapse. Histone deacetylase inhibitors have emerged as a promising group of antineoplastic agents due to their ability to modulate gene expression epigenetically.

Li-Fraumeni syndrome is a rare yet serious hereditary cancer predisposition syndrome, marked by a significant early-life increased risk of developing cancer. Primarily caused by germline mutations in the TP53 tumor suppressor gene, Li-Fraumeni syndrome is associated with a wide range of malignancies. Clinical management of Li-Fraumeni syndrome could be challenging, especially the lifelong surveillance and follow-up of patients which requires a multidisciplinary approach.

Objective: The effect of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) on the immortal characteristics of malignant cells, particularly hematologic cancer cells, remains a topic of debate, with the underlying mechanisms still requiring further elucidation. We explored the effect of the bone marrow-derived MSCs (BM-MSCs) on CD34 leukemic stem cells (LSCs) enriched from the KG1-a cell line by assessing apoptosis, measuring cytokine levels, and examining TERT protein expression. Additionally, the potential signaling pathways implicated in this process, such as P53, PTEN, NF-κB, ERK1/2, Raf-1, and H-RAS, were also investigated.
