The Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) represents a topic of great concern. We report the case of a patient with late-onset seroma, who was initially diagnosed with an implant-related infection of the breast due to microbial detection in the seroma fluid, thus delaying the diagnosis of BIA-ALCL.

Background: The androgen receptor (AR) is discussed as a prognostic and/or predictive marker in breast cancer patients.

Methods: AR mRNA expression was analysed by RT-qPCR in breast cancer patients treated in the neoadjuvant TECHNO (n  =  118, HER2-positive) and PREPARE trial (n  =  321, HER2-positive and -negative). In addition, mRNA expression of the AR transcript variants 1 (AR1) and 2 (AR2) was measured.

Background: Geometric parameters have been proposed for prediction of cerebral aneurysm rupture risk. Predicting the rupture risk for incidentally detected unruptured aneurysms could help clinicians in their treatment decision. However, assessment of geometric parameters depends on several factors, including the spatial resolution of the imaging modality used and the chosen reconstruction procedure.

Cardiac 123I-MIBG Scintigraphy in Neurodegenerative Parkinson Syndromes: Performance and Pitfalls in Clinical Practice.

Cardiac [I]metaiodobenzylguanidine scintigraphy (123I-MIBG), reflecting postganglionic cardiac autonomic denervation, is proposed for early detection of Parkinson's disease (PD; reduced tracer uptake) and separation from Multiple System Atrophy (MSA; preserved tracer uptake). However, several recent studies report on frequent unexpected 123I-MIBG results in PD and MSA. We sought to determine, whether 123I-MIBG is feasible to discriminate PD from MSA in unselected geriatric patients in clinical practice.

Introduction: We report a pooled analysis evaluating the combination of gross complete limb-sparing surgery, intraoperative electron radiation therapy (IOERT), and external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) in patients with extremity soft tissue sarcoma (STS).
