Chronic heart failure (CHF) is the final outcome of almost all forms of cardiovascular diseases, remaining the main cause of mortality worldwide. Accumulating evidence is focused on the roles of gut microbial community in cardiovascular disease, but few studies have unveiled the alterations and further directions of gut microbiota in severe CHF patients. Aimed to investigate this deficiency, fecal samples from 29 CHF patients diagnosed with NYHA Class III-IV and 30 healthy controls were collected and then analyzed using bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequencing.

This research was to explore antibiotic-induced drug resistance of and its biofilm formation mechanism. Kirby-Bauer (K-B) disk method recommended by Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) was used to test drug sensitivity of Salmonella enteritidis to 16 kinds of antibiotics including ß-lactams, aminoglycosides, quinolones, sulfonamides, chloramphenicols, and tetracyclines. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was performed to detect carrying of drug resistance genes of 29 kinds of antibiotics including ß-lactams, aminoglycosides, quinolones, sulfonamides, chloramphenicols, and tetracyclines of .

In this work, a highly selective fluorescent chemosensor -(2-(2--1,3-dioxo-2,3-dihydro-1-benzo[]isoquinolin-6-yl)hydrazine-1-carbonothioyl)benzamide () was prepared and characterized. An assay to detect the presence of cobalt(II) ions was developed by utilizing turn-on fluorescence enhancement with visual colorimetric response. Upon treatment with Co, a remarkable fluorescence enhancement located at 450 nm was visible to naked eyes accompanied with a distinct color change (from pink to colorless) in a CHCN/HEPES (4/1, /, pH = 7.

Isomers provide more possibilities for the structure of organic compounds. Molecular structures determine their corresponding properties, therefore the intrinsic relationship between structure and properties of isomers is of great research value. Isomers with a stable structure and excellent performance possess more potential for development and application.

To screen the specific anti-human intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) single chain fragment variable (scFv) using phage display library technology and to identify its biological activity. P1 peptide was used as antigen, and the phage antibodies against human ICAM-1 antigen were panned by four binding-eluting-amplifying cycles using Tomlinson I+J phage display library. After four rounds of selective enrichment screening, the positive clones were determined by PCR, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)-based antigenic cross reaction and Dot blotting.

Despite the recent introduction of mass detection techniques, ultraviolet detection is still widely applied in the field of the chromatographic analysis of natural medicines. Here, a neural network cascade model consisting of nine small artificial neural network units was innovatively developed to predict the chromatographic sequence of natural compounds by integrating five molecular descriptors as the input. A total of 117 compounds of known structure were collected for model building.

In this study, the PEGylated nanostructured lipid carriers (PEG-NLC) were constructed for the intravenous delivery of 17-allylamino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin (17AAG). 17AAG-PEG-NLC was successfully prepared by the method of emulsion evaporation at a high temperature and solidification at a low temperature using a mixture of glycerol monostearate and PEG-stearate as solid lipids, and medium-chain triglyceride as the liquid lipid. The results revealed that the morphology of the NLC was spheroidal.
