Electron effect regulation is a crucial factor influencing the activity and selectivity of Cu-based coordination compound catalysts in the electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CORR). Despite significant progress, the structure-activity relationship and the underlying regulatory mechanisms warrant further in-depth investigation. In this study, three types of Cu-[ONNO] tetradentate coordination molecular catalysts with varying electron densities, namely Cu-NO, methoxy-modified Cu-NO (Cu-EDG-NO), and nitro-modified Cu-NO (Cu-EWG-NO), were prepared using a substituent regulation strategy.

To address the limitations of traditional coal pillar design methods in engineering practice for deep retreat mining roadways, this research focuses on the retreat mining face at the Pinggang Coal Mine in Heilongjiang Province. Combining mechanical experiments, theoretical calculations, numerical simulations, and field tests, this study calculates the ultimate equilibrium size of coal pillars. It also analyses the stress transfer and surrounding rock plastic evolution characteristics under different coal pillar sizes in deep retreat mining faces and carries out a field engineering application.

Hybrid wood fiber/plastic composites offer a high-value-added utilization for agroforestry waste, which also providing a promising solution for reducing white pollution. However, the interface incompatibility between natural wood fibers and polymers significantly impairs the mechanical properties of the composites. Herein, a straightforward procedure is proposed to solve this problem, involving the removal of low-thermal-stability hemicellulose from wood fibers by hydrothermal pretreatment, followed by compositing with polyamide to produce hydrothermally treated wood fiber/polyamide composites (HWPACs).

During the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), catalyst candidates that can fully trigger self-reconstruction to derive active species with favorable configurations are expected to overcome the sluggish reaction kinetics. Herein, we innovatively propose the introduction of heterogeneous vanadate dopants into nickel-iron alloy precatalysts, where the crystal mismatch structure induces local electron delocalization in the hexagonal close packed alloy phase, thereby facilitating adequate electrochemical reconstruction to form (oxy)hydroxides as the real catalytic species. Simultaneously, the participation of vanadate in the reconstruction also triggers mismatch in the derived (oxy)hydroxides, reinforcing the metal-oxygen covalence, so that lattice oxygen activation is kinetically favorable and facilitates the OER via the lattice oxygen pathway.

To address issues such as misdetection and omission due to low light, image defocus, and worker occlusion in coal-rock image recognition, a new method called YOLOv8-Coal, based on YOLOv8, is introduced to enhance recognition accuracy and processing speed. The Deformable Convolution Network version 3 enhances object feature extraction by adjusting sampling positions with offsets and aligning them closely with the object's shape. The Polarized Self-Attention module in the feature fusion network emphasizes crucial features and suppresses unnecessary information to minimize irrelevant factors.

To construct a chaotic system with complex characteristics and to improve the security of image data, a five-dimensional tri-valued memristor chaotic system with high complexity is innovatively constructed. Firstly, a pressure-controlled tri-valued memristor on Liu's pseudo-four-wing chaotic system is introduced. Through analytical methods, such as Lyapunov exponential map, bifurcation map and attractor phase diagram, it is demonstrated that the new system has rich dynamical behaviors with periodic limit rings varying with the coupling parameter of the system, variable airfoil phenomenon as well as transient chaotic phenomenon of chaos-periodic depending on the system parameter and chaos-quasi-periodic depending on the memristor parameter.

Objective: In the past, the localization of seizure onset zone (SOZ) primarily relied on traditional EEG signal analysis methods. However, due to their limited spatial and temporal resolution, accurately pinpointing neural activity was challenging, thereby restricting their clinical applicability. Compared with traditional EEG signals, SEEG signals have superior spatial and temporal resolution, and can more accurately record neural activity near epileptic foci, making them better suited for studying SOZ.

With the gradual shift of coal mining to the western coal mining region of China, floor heave in weakly cemented mudstone roadways has become an issue affecting the safety and efficiency of coal mine production. Additionally, different mining rates can lead to fluctuating support stresses on the roof and floor of weakly cemented mudstone roadways. Therefore, obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the mechanical properties of weakly cemented mudstone at different loading rates is conducive to improving the issue of floor heave in such roadways and provides a theoretical basis for further study.

Ultrasensitive photoelectric detection of nitrogen dioxide (NO) with PHI under visible light irradiation at room temperature (RT) remains an ongoing challenge due to the low charge separation and scarce adsorption sites. In this work, a dimensionally matched ultrathin CoNiHHTP MOF/PHI Z-scheme heterojunction is successfully constructed by taking advantage of the π-π interactions existing between the CoNiHHTP MOF and PHI. The amount-optimized heterojunction possesses a record detection limit of 1 ppb (response = 15.

We investigated the photocatalytic property of etched iron‑aluminum layered double hydroxide (LDH) composites using urea-modified biochar (N-BC) carrier to degrade para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), a refractory organic pollutant. The prepared FeAl-LDH@FeSx-N-BC composite exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance, attributed to the enhanced photogenerated charge-carrier separation by the etched LDH and the improved comparative surface areas by the doped N-BC. The composite photocatalytically degraded 96 % of PABA.

Based on the previous research on the energy absorption of foam metal materials with different structures, a composite blast-resistant energy-absorbing material with a flexible core layer was designed. The material is composed of three different fiber materials (carbon fiber, aramid fiber, and glass fiber) as the core layer and foamed iron-nickel metal as the front and rear panels. The energy absorption characteristics were tested using a self-built gas explosion tube network experimental platform, and the energy absorption effects of different combinations of blast-resistant materials were analyzed.

Experimental studies have demonstrated that the gas phase contact angle (CA) of a surface nanobubble (SNB) is much smaller than that of a macroscopic gas bubble. This reduced CA plays a crucial role in prolonging the lifetime of SNBs by lowering the bubble pressure and preventing gas molecules from dissolving in the surrounding liquids. Despite extensive efforts to explain the anomalously small CA, a consensus about the underlying reasons is yet to be reached.

To study the effects of gas hydrates on the prevention and control of coal and gas protrusions, this paper reports the results of acoustic emission experiments on coal bodies containing gas hydrates with different saturation levels. The results showed that few acoustic emission events were generated in the elasticity stages of coal bodies containing gas hydrates, and the first sudden increase in the number of ringing counts generally occurred before and after the yielding point. Additionally, the acoustic emission events in the yielding stage were more active, and the cumulative number of ringing counts increased faster.

Designing and developing photocatalysts with excellent performance in order to achieve efficient hydrogen production is an important strategy for addressing future energy and environmental challenges. Traditional single-phase photocatalytic materials either have a large bandgap and low visible light response or experience rapid recombination of the photogenerated carriers with low quantum efficiency, seriously hindering their photocatalytic applications. To solve these issues, an important solution is to construct well-matched heterojunctions with highly efficient charge separation capabilities.
