Background: Surgical site infection (SSI) represents a significant postoperative complication in colorectal cancer (CRC). Identifying associated factors is therefore critical. We evaluated the predictive value of clinicopathological features and inflammation-based prognostic scores (IBPSs) for SSI occurrence in CRC patients.

Background And Purpose: The role of serum uric acid (UA) level in patients suffering from stroke remains controversial. Our aim was to investigate the effect of UA level on clinical outcomes in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).

Methods: In the retrospective cohort study, we analyzed data from 250 patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (85 women and 165 men) to investigate the difference in UA levels between patients with a good prognosis and those with a poor prognosis.

The association between glucose fluctuation with sarcopenia in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Objective: Growing evidence shows that sarcopenia is more prevalent in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) than in the normal population. However, currently, data on the relationship between blood glucose fluctuation and sarcopenia in elderly patients with T2DM are still limited.

Patients And Methods: In this study, 280 patients ≥ 60 years with T2DM were divided into sarcopenic group and non-sarcopenic group, according to the diagnostic criteria of the 2019 Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia.
