Background: Proper medication reconciliation (= comparing the accuracy of patient-reported medication use with pharmacy records) could prevent potentially dangerous situations such as drug-drug interactions and hospitalization. This is particularly important when patients rely on multiple medications, such as in neurodegenerative disorders like Huntington's Disease (HD). Currently, it is unknown how often medication discrepancies occur in HD patients and which factors contribute to the discrepancies.

Shift work can cause circadian misalignment, which often results in sleeping problems and has been associated with immune dysfunction. To better understand the impact of shift work on a primary immune response to vaccination, we compared severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2)-specific humoral and cellular immune responses after one injection of the messenger RNA (mRNA)-1273 vaccine between day workers (n = 24) and night shift workers (n = 21). In addition, duration and quality of sleep were assessed for a period of 7 days around the time of vaccination using actigraphy and daily sleep diaries, and their relationship with immunogenicity of mRNA-1273 vaccination was studied.

A 29-year-old woman presented with a witnessed convulsion, with semiology consistent with a focal-to-bilateral tonic-clonic seizure. Routine EEG supported a syndromic diagnosis of idiopathic generalised epilepsy with photosensitivity. We discuss the clinical utility of seizure semiology, highlighting the caveat that over-reliance or sole reliance on the ictal semiology may result in an erroneous diagnosis of focal epilepsy in someone with a generalised epilepsy.

To stimulate cell growth, the protein kinase complex mTORC1 requires intracellular amino acids for activation. Amino-acid sufficiency is relayed to mTORC1 by Rag GTPases on lysosomes, where growth factor signaling enhances mTORC1 activity via the GTPase Rheb. In the absence of amino acids, GATOR1 inactivates the Rags, resulting in lysosomal detachment and inactivation of mTORC1.

Introduction: Orthostatic hypotension is common in people with Parkinson's disease (PD) due to autonomic dysfunction and medication use and can have a significant negative impact on quality of life. Pharmacological treatment is often complicated due to complex blood pressure regulation problems. This case report presents a patient whose symptoms of orthostatic intolerance were successfully treated with the non-pharmacological method of head-up tilt sleeping (HUTS).

Epilepsy care generates multiple sources of high-dimensional data, including clinical, imaging, electroencephalographic, genomic, and neuropsychological information, that are collected routinely to establish the diagnosis and guide management. Thanks to high-performance computing, sophisticated graphics processing units, and advanced analytics, we are now on the cusp of being able to use these data to significantly improve individualized care for people with epilepsy. Despite this, many clinicians, health care providers, and people with epilepsy are apprehensive about implementing Big Data and accompanying technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).

Objectives: Artificial intelligence (AI) is thought to improve lesion detection. However, a lack of knowledge about human performance prevents a comparative evaluation of AI and an accurate assessment of its impact on clinical decision-making. Here we evaluated the current state of education, clinical skills and postgraduate educational preferences on ANS disorders of European neurology residents and consultants.
Methods: A 23-item questionnaire was developed and distributed online amongst European neurology residents and consultants via mailing lists of the European Academy of Neurology.
