Purpose: To investigate the effect of two crown metal alloys with different roughness on the adhesion of predominant subgingival bacteria.
Methods: Au- Pt alloy and Ni-Cr alloy with different roughness were attached to the Ti implant material and incubated under anaerobic condition. The adhesion of four subgingival predominant bacteria: Porphyromanus gingivalis(Pg), Actinobacillus actinomycet-emcomitans (Aa), Prevotella intermedia (Pi) and Fusobacterium nuclertum (Fn), was detected, respectively.

Objective: To investigate the expression of HPA and HIF-1alpha in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and their relationship with cancer development, invasion and metastasis.
Methods: The expression of HPA mRNA and HIF-1alpha protein in 23 mucosa specimens of incisal margin, 26 para-tumorous dysplastic tissues and 70 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma specimens were detected by in situ hybridization assay and immunohistochemical staining, respectively.
Results: The positive expression of HPA mRNA and HIF-1alpha protein were significantly increased as the epithelial cells progressed into carcinoma (P < 0.

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of Shenzhe Zhuyun mixture (SZM) in treating esophageal lesion in patients with systemic sclerosis.
Methods: Sixty-four patients conforming to the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into 2 groups, the treated group and the control group treated respectively by SZM and cisapride, with the blank preparation imitating the contrast one, the treatment course to both groups was 2 months. The clinical efficacy, the changes in symptom scores of esophageal lesion, the orthostatic and clinostatic time of barium passing through esophagus, the clinostatic esophageal emptying index of barium, and the widest transverse diameter of ectatic esophageal segment, as well as the influence of treatment on patients' quality of life were observed.

Objective: To study the clinical effect and mechanism of auricular acupoint pressing (AAP) in treating sleep apnea syndrome (SAS).
Methods: Forty-five patients with SAS were randomly divided in to the AAP group (30 patients) and the control group (15 patients) to observe the changes of clinical symptoms, apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), apnea index (AI), hypopnea index (HI) and minimum blood oxygen saturation (mSaO2) in night before and after treatment by multiple channel polysomnography (PSG).
Results: Clinical symptoms were significantly alleviated in the AAP group after treatment, with improvement in various parameters monitored by PSG (P < 0.
