Methods: Conducted as a retrospective case-control study at Hebei Provincial Eye Hospital from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2021, the study included APAC cases undergoing ultrasound phacoemulsification with or without glaucoma surgery.

Fifteen acute retrobulbar optic neuritis associated with COVID-19: A case report and review of literature.

Background: A subtype of the Omicron variant of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is suggested to be responsible for the outbreak in Northern China since the quarantine was lifted in December 2022. The coronavirus disease 2019 virus is primarily responsible for the development of respiratory illnesses, however, it can present a plethora of symptoms affecting a myriad of body organs. This virus has been theorized to be linked to demyelinating lesions of the peripheral and central nervous system including transverse myelitis and acute retrobulbar optic neuritis (ARON).

The aim of the present study was to investigate the expression of elastin in the CFS and levator palpebrae superioris muscle (LM) of children with severe congenital ptosis with different LM strengths. In total, 20 pediatric patients with unilateral severe congenital ptosis (20 eyes) were included, who underwent CFS + LM complex suspension surgery from June 2020 to February 2022.

Abnormalities of retinal function in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients without clinical diabetic retinopathy detected by multifocal electroretinogram.

Objective: To study the changes of retinal function in type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) patients without apparently diabetic retinopathy via multifocal electroretinogram.

Methods: Thirty-six type 2 DM patients (72 eyes) without visible diabetic retinopathy were selected as the experimental group, and thirty-five healthy subjects (70 eyes) were selected as the control group. All subjects were underwent multifocal electroretinogram (mf- ERG).

Matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2)-responsive nanodrug vehicles have garnered significant attention as antitumor drug delivery systems due to the extensive research on matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) within the tumor extracellular matrix (ECM). These nanodrug vehicles exhibit stable circulation in the bloodstream and accumulate specifically in tumors through various mechanisms. Upon reaching tumor tissues, their structures are degraded in response to MMP-2 within the ECM, resulting in drug release.

Study on maintenance of eyeball morphology by foldable capsular vitreous body in severe ocular trauma.

Objectives: To explore the feasibility and safety of using a foldable capsular vitreous body (FCVB) in managing severe ocular trauma and silicone oil-dependent eyes.

Methodology: This is a retrospective study of 61 ocular trauma patients (61 eyes) who presented to the Department of Eye Emergency, Hebei Eye Hospital from May 1, 2018, to May 31, 2019, including 51 male patients (51 eyes) and 10 female patients (10 eyes) with an average age of 44.98 ± 14.

Rationale: Phacolytic glaucoma (PLG), a secondary open-angle glaucoma caused by high molecular weight proteins leaking through the capsule of a hypermature cataract. Leakage of liquefied lens cortex behind the posterior capsule is rare. In this paper, we review a case of phacolytic glaucoma in the lens cortex behind posterior capsule.

[Analysis of long-term outcomes of penetrating keratoplasty for congenital corneal opacity].

To investigate the long-term outcomes of corneal grafts after penetrating keratoplasty(PK) for congenital corneal opacity(CCO) in children aged 0 to 5 years and the related influencing factors. It was a retrospective series case study. Data of 39 children (55 eyes) who underwent PK surgery due to CCO in the keratology Department of Beijing Tongren Hospital from April 2014 to April 2018 and were followed up for more than 30 months were collected.

Background: Hammered silver appearance of the corneal endothelium is considered a characteristic change in iridocorneal-endothelial syndrome. Herein we report an interesting case of hammered silver appearance of the corneal endothelium in Fuchs uveitis syndrome (FUS).

Efficacy and Safety of Intravitreal Injection of Triamcinolone Acetonide and Conbercept for Intraocular Lens after Cataract Surgery.

Objective: To investigate the effect of intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide and conbercept on the efficacy and safety of diabetic macular edema (DME) after cataract intraocular lens (IOL) surgery.

Methods: A total of 350 patients with cataract complicated with diabetic macular edema in our hospital from January 2017 to July 2021 were randomly divided into conbercept group and triamcinolone acetonide group. Patients in the conbercept group were given intravitreal injection of conbercept during IOL surgery, and patients in the triamcinolone acetonide group were given injection of triamcinolone acetonide during surgery.

Contrast Agent and Molecular Imaging Meta-Analysis of the Clinical Effect of Intelligent Image Sensor Combined with Visual Training in the Treatment of Children with Intermittent Exotropia in China.
