Risk factors for high-stage histological chorioamnionitis among pregnancies with cervical incompetence.

Aim: The study aimed to identify predictive risk factor to identify high-stage histological chorioamnionitis (HCA) in pregnancies with cervical incompetence (CIC).

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted by including 116 pregnant women with cervical incompetence that required prophylactical and therapeutical cerclage. The histopathology examination on placenta was conducted with informed patient consent.

Perinatal risk factors for neonatal early-onset sepsis: a meta-analysis of observational studies.

Objective: Early-onset neonatal sepsis (EONS) remains an important cause of neonatal mortality and has many risk factors, therefore, this study aimed to investigate the perinatal risk factors for EONS.

Methods: We searched CNKI, Wan Fang, VIP, CBM, PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science to compile studies regarding the incidence of neonatal early-onset sepsis, published up to 1 May 2022. To evaluate the quality of the included studies, we used the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale, and the RevMan5.

Efficacy and safety of a neurointerventional operation robotic assistance system in cerebral angiography.

Background: At present, neurointerventional surgery requires angiographers to perform operations in the digital subtraction angiography (DSA) room. Ionising radiation and chronic joint damage are still unavoidable for angiographers. Therefore, we researched and developed a neurointerventional robot-assisted system, which is operated by angiographers in an operating room outside the DSA room.

The association between leisure activity patterns and the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment in community-dwelling older adults.

Objectives: The study aimed to identify leisure activity patterns among older adults and explore the differences in the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) of these patterns.

Methods: A total of 352 older adults aged ≥ 65 years in Shijiazhuang were enrolled in this study from June to September 2021. Their leisure activities and cognition were evaluated.

Objectives: The characteristic of nonmotor symptoms in patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA) has varied among previous studies. The objective was to investigatethe nonmotor characteristics in MSA patients with different phenotypes, sex and different onset patterns.

Methods: We performed a retrospective review of 1492 MSA patients.

The distribution of Haptoglobin (HP) subtypes differs according to race and geography. It was also confirmed that the serum HP concentration was substantially affected by the HP subtypes. This study aimed to investigate the HP subtypes in northern Chinese and to establish reference intervals for the major HP subtypes using the BN II system.

Objective: To investigate complement components expression in both thyroid tissues and serum from patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT), Graves' disease (GD), and papillary thyroid cancer (PTC).

Methods: C1q, mannose binding lectin (MBL), Bb, C4d, C3d and membrane attack complex (MAC) (C5b-9) deposition and complement regulate proteins (CD46, CD55 and CD59) expression in thyroid tissues from HT, GD, PTC, and control groups were examined by IHC. C1q, MBL, Bb, C4d, C3a, and soluble C5b-9 (sC5b-9) serum levels in the HT, GD, PTC, and healthy donor (HD) groups were measured by ELISAs.

miR-223-3p inhibits the progression of atherosclerosis via down-regulating the activation of MEK1/ERK1/2 in macrophages.

Background: microRNAs (miRNAs) have drawn more attention to the progression of atherosclerosis (AS), due to their noticeable inflammation function in cardiovascular disease. Macrophages play a crucial role in disrupting atherosclerotic plaque, thereby we explored the involvement of miR-223-3p in the inflammatory response in macrophages.

Methods: RT-qPCR was used to analyze the miR-223-3p levels in carotid arteries and serum of AS patients.

The main objective of this study is to analyze the clinical and pathological features and prognosis of patients with Hepatitis B associated membranous nephropathy (HBV-MN) and idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) complicated with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. This study will provide more basis for diagnosis and prognosis evaluation. A total of 50 patients with HBV-MN were included in this study.

Of the limited knowledge on juvenile violence, the default mode network has been known to be associated with its pathophysiology.

Proton Pump Inhibitors and the Risk of Community-Acquired Pneumonia: An Updated Meta-analysis.

Background: Some studies suggested an increased risk of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) among proton pump inhibitors (PPI) users. However, the published evidence is inadequate to define the association between PPI use and the risk of CAP.

Objective: The aims of our meta-analysis were to systematically assess the association between the risk of CAP and PPI use in adults to reduce the adverse effects of PPI and ensure the safety of medication for patients.

Design: Multicentre, prospective cohort study. Unconditional logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the OR, 95 % CI and the predicted probabilities of adverse pregnancy outcomes.
