PANoptosis is one of several modes of programmed cell death (PCD) and plays an important role in many inflammatory and immune diseases. The role of PANoptosis in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is currently unknown. Differentially expressed PANoptosis-related genes (DE-PRGs) were identified, and pathway enrichment analyses were performed.

Phospholipase A2 receptor 1 (PLA2R1) exists in many animals and plays an important role in membranous nephropathy. In this study, we aimed to evaluate a PLA2R1 knock-in rat model with repaired kidney function to study the molecular mechanisms of membranous nephropathy. We constructed the PLA2R1 knockout [PLA2R1(-)] model and PLA2R1 knock in [PLA2R1(+)] model in rats.

The Eurasian avian-like (EA) H1N1 swine influenza virus (SIV) possesses the capacity to instigate the next influenza pandemic, owing to its heightened affinity for the human-type α-2,6 sialic acid (SA) receptor. Nevertheless, the molecular mechanisms underlying the switch in receptor binding preferences of EA H1N1 SIV remain elusive. In this study, we conduct a comprehensive genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 knockout screen utilizing EA H1N1 SIV in porcine kidney cells.

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is a systemic infectious disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus infection, which could attack the bones and heart. However, the relationship between Nuclear Complex Associated 3 Homolog (NOC3L) and DEAD box helicase 17 (DDX17) and acquired immunodeficiency complicated with viral myocarditis and osteoporosis is unclear. The acquired immune deficiency dataset GSE140713, GSE147162 and the osteoporosis dataset (GSE230665), and viral myocarditis dataset (GSE150392) configuration files were generated from gene expression omnibus.

Background: Although the information on the validation status of electronic sphygmomanometer (ES) devices in use in health care institutions and households is much more clinically relevant than that of ES models available on the market, it remains insufficient.
Methods: A national survey was conducted across all administrative regions of mainland China to assess the validation status of ESs. Fifty-eight cities were selected with stratification by municipality, provincial capital, and other cities, and health care institutions and households in each city were chosen by convenience to identify ES devices in use according to the study protocol.

Hyperglycemia accelerates Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression, yet the role of monosaccharides remains unclear. Here, it is demonstrated that mannose, a hexose, closely correlates with the pathological characteristics of AD, as confirmed by measuring mannose levels in the brains and serum of AD mice, as well as in the serum of AD patients. AD mice are given mannose by intra-cerebroventricular injection (ICV) or in drinking water to investigate the effects of mannose on cognition and AD pathological progression.

Background: As one of the common malignant tumors nowadays, liver cancer has more risk factors for its development and is characterized by a high recurrence rate, high mortality rate, and poor prognosis, which poses a great threat to people's health. The specific efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine is based on clinical practice, which is a high degree of generalization of the characteristics and scope of the clinical effects of prescription medicines and a special form of expression of the medical effects of the human body within the scope of traditional Chinese medicine. Because of its multi-ingredient, multi-target, and multi-pathway characteristics, it has a great advantage in the treatment of liver cancer.

Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are pivotal in the initiation and progression of complex human diseases and have been identified as targets for small molecule (SM) drugs. However, the expensive and time-intensive characteristics of conventional experimental techniques for identifying SM-miRNA associations highlight the necessity for efficient computational methodologies in this field.
Results: In this study, we proposed a deep learning method called Multi-source Data Fusion and Graph Neural Networks for Small Molecule-MiRNA Association (MDFGNN-SMMA) to predict potential SM-miRNA associations.
