This study aimed to predict therapeutic efficacy among diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) after R-CHOP (-like) therapy using baseline F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (F-FDG PET) radiomics. A total of 239 patients with DLBCL were enrolled in this study, with 82 patients having refractory/relapsed disease. The radiomics signatures were developed using a stacking ensemble approach.

The transient receptor potential melastatin 7 channel (TRPM7) is a nonselective cation channel highly expressed in some human cancer tissues. TRPM7 is involved in the proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of cancer cells. Modulation of TRPM7 could be a promising therapeutic strategy for treating cancer; however, efficient and selective pharmacological TRPM7 modulators are lacking.

Lymphoepithelioma-like intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (LEL-ICC) is a rare liver tumor that appears as a hepatic nodule on imaging with a specific pathological pattern, and the definitive diagnosis relies on its pathological histomorphology, immunophenotype, and Epstein-Barr encoding region test. Radical surgical resection is the primary treatment modality, and immunotherapy is expected to be a new adjuvant treatment option. LEL-ICC with massive multinucleated giant cell infiltration has not been reported so far.

Introduction: Accumulating evidence suggests the significant involvement of GADD45G in the development of various cancers. This study investigates GADD45G's involvement and methylation status in endometrial cancer (EC), along with molecular mechanisms and potential therapies.
Methods: The expression of GADD45G in EC tissues and controls was evaluated using RNA-seq, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), and western blotting (WB).

Introduction: Lung cancer is a significant cause of mortality, especially among smokers. Lung cancer and smoking are strongly associated, according to numerous studies.
Methods: Publications related to smoking and lung cancer were retrieved from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database of the Web of Science Core Collection for the period 1994-2023.

Intestinal obstruction, a rare manifestation of immunotherapy-related gastrointestinal adverse events, can be severe and even life-threatening with intestinal perforation. We present a 64-year-old man with HCC and currently under the therapy with Pembrolizumab, who was admitted in our hospital with abdominal distension. Radiologic findings were consistent with small bowel ileus.

The compound NS5806 is a Kv4 channel modulator. This study investigated the chronic effects of NS5806 on cardiac hypertrophy induced by transverse aortic constriction (TAC) in mice in vivo and on neonatal rat ventricular cardiomyocyte hypertrophy induced by endothelin-1 (ET-1) in vitro. Four weeks after TAC, NS5806 was administered by gavage for 4 weeks.

Background: Empagliflozin has been shown in clinical studies to lower the risk of adverse cardiovascular events. Using proteomics, the current study aims to determine whether empagliflozin reduces aortic alterations in obese mice and to investigate its molecular mechanism of action.
Methods: We constructed obese mice and then treated them with empagliflozin.

Objective: To compare the effectiveness of radiomic features based on F-FDG PET/CT images within (intranodular) and around (perinodular) lung nodules/masses in distinguishing between lung adenocarcinoma and pulmonary granulomas.
Methods: For this retrospective study, F-FDG PET/CT images were collected for 228 patients. Patients diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma ( = 156) or granulomas ( = 72) were randomly assigned to a training ( = 159) and validation ( = 69) groups.

Aim: To quantitatively evaluate the relationship between the anatomical parameters of the right atrium and the recurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) after radiofrequency ablation, considering different types of AF, utilizing 256-slice spiral computed tomography (CT).
Materials And Methods: A total of 297 patients with AF who underwent initial radiofrequency ablation were enrolled, divided into the paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PaAF) group (n=230) and the persistent atrial fibrillation (PeAF) group (n=67). Subsequently, patients in each group were further stratified into recurrent and non-recurrent subgroups.
Background: Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death globally. Myocardial ischemia and infarction, in particular, frequently cause disturbances in cardiac electrical activity that can trigger ventricular arrhythmias. We aimed to investigate whether catestatin, an endogenous catecholamine-inhibiting peptide, ameliorates myocardial ischemia-induced ventricular arrhythmias in rats and the underlying ionic mechanisms.

The established recognition of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification as an indispensable regulatory agent in human cancer is widely accepted. However, the understanding of m6A's role and the mechanisms underlying its contribution to gefitinib resistance is notably limited. Herein, using RT-qPCR, Western blot, Cell proliferation and apoptosis, as well as RNA m6A modification assays, we substantiated that heightened FTO (Fat Mass and Obesity-associated protein) expression substantially underpins the emergence of gefitinib resistance in NSCLC cells.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the effects of semaglutide on gut microbiota, cognitive function, and inflammation in obese mice.
Method: Twenty-four C57BL/6J male mice were randomly assigned to three groups: a normal-chow diet group (NCD, = 8), high-fat diet group (HFD, = 8), and HFD+semaglutide group (Sema, = 8). The mice were fed a HFD to establish an animal model of obesity and then administered with semaglutide or saline for 12 weeks.
