Background: COVID-19 lockdown has affected health behaviors and daily life in unprecedented ways. This study aimed to assess (i) the prevalence of lifestyle behaviors including physical activity, sedentary behavior, sleep, and stress levels during the COVID confinement, and (ii) evaluate anthropometric measures, body composition, cardiopulmonary and muscular endurance among regular Wellness Center attendees, following two years' service closure.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was undertaken between 1 June 2022 and 30 January 2023.

Key Clinical Message: Healthcare workers are prone to very high level of physical as well as emotional stress that lead to devastating health-related consequences which include but not limited to cardiovascular events that may lead to death. Recognizing the risk of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy among healthcare worker is the main aim of this report.
Abstract: Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy (TC) is a reversible left ventricular wall motion abnormality that could not be explained by coronary artery disease and is typically precipitated by either emotional or physical stress.

Department of Medicine, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Doha, Qatar.
Objective: The relationship between obesity and in-hospital outcomes in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who develop an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) was assessed.
Methods: Data from the National Inpatient Sample (NIS) from 2008 to 2017 were analyzed. Patients with STEMI and T2DM were classified as being underweight or having normal weight, overweight, obesity, and severe obesity.
Key Clinical Message: Respiratory viruses, particularly COVID-19, can be associated with severe cases of myocardial infarction (MI). Physicians should have a low threshold for MI in COVID-19 patients who present with persistent chest pain as MI in rapidly deteriorating cases can be missed. Prompt response includes both timely diagnosis and swift treatment.

Acute mitral valve regurgitation (MR) is an emergency condition that requires an early diagnosis of the etiology and rapid management. Surgical intervention is the first-line treatment for acute severe MR. However, many patients are denied surgical intervention due to the acute risk of surgery.

Background: Coronavirus disease COVID-19) patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) are at a higher risk of morbidity and mortality. This study describes the risks and outcome in COVID-19 patients with CVD attending Primary Health Care Corporationsettings in Qatar.
Objective: To report whether CVD increases the risk for hospitalization and further complications in COVID-19 patients.

Case: We report a case of a 76-year-old female who presented with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction and developed a 22-second ventricular pause with ticagrelor that did not recur after shifting to clopidogrel. Based on the Naranjo algorithm, the likelihood that our patient's prolonged ventricular pause was due to ticagrelor exposure was probable.
Conclusion: Ticagrelor use is associated with prolonged ventricular pauses, warranting close monitoring, particularly during the first week of therapy.
Background The association of cardiac wall motion abnormalities (CWMAs) in patients with stroke who have major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to estimate the 50-month risk of MACE, including stroke recurrence, acute coronary events, and vascular death in patients with stroke who have CWMAs. Methods and Results We performed a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected acute stroke data (acute stroke and transient ischemic attack) over 50 months by electronic medical records.

The probability of right heart thrombus co-existence should be considered in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) who have pulmonary and cardiac symptoms. The prevention and management of intracardiac thrombotic events include early use of anticoagulation therapy.

Two methods are currently available for left atrial (LA) strain measurement by speckle tracking echocardiography, with two different reference timings for starting the analysis: QRS (QRS-LASr) and P wave (P-LASr). The aim of MASCOT HIT study was to define which of the two was more reproducible, more feasible, and less time consuming. In 26 expert centers, LA strain was analyzed by two different echocardiographers (young vs senior) in a blinded fashion.

Our Syncope Clinic commenced in 2014 and we sought to evaluate its impact on outcomes (1-yr mortality and syncope re-hospitalization) in patients discharged following syncope admission.
Methods: A single-center study of all consecutive patients discharged with syncope (ICD-10 R55) between April 2012 and 2017.
Background Cardiac features diverge in Asians; however, it is not known how these differences relate to embolic stroke of unknown source (ESUS) in Southeast Asian and Eastern Mediterranean regions. Methods and Results A retrospective analysis of prospectively collected acute ischemic stroke data from 2014 to 2018 was performed. Stroke subtypes were noncardioembolic stroke (large-vessel and small-vessel disease; n=1348), cardioembolic stroke (n=532), and ESUS (n=656).

Beta-blockers (BB) have been traditionally associated with improvement in cardiovascular disease outcomes in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy. Whether they're still efficacious in the post-reperfusion era is currently debated in the light of recent controversial reports. In-hospital, 6-month and 12-month mortality were studied in the GULF-COAST, a prospective multicenter cohort of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), in relation to BB use: prior to admission, 24-hour post-admission and on discharge in patients with a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≥ 40%.

Background Aspirin is of uncertain benefit for primary prevention in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D). We assessed whether primary prevention with aspirin is beneficial in patients with T2D and heart failure ( HF ). Methods and Results Data from The Health Improvement Network, a UK multicenter prospective primary care database, were analyzed.

Background: The prognostic impact of β-blockers (BB) in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients without heart failure (HF) or left ventricular dysfunction is controversial, especially in the postreperfusion era. We sought to determine whether a BB therapy before admission for ACS has a favorable in-hospital outcome in patients without HF, and whether they also reduce 12-month mortality if still prescribed on discharge.
Methods And Results: The GULF-RACE 2 (Gulf Registry of Acute Coronary Events-2) is a prospective multicenter study of ACS in 6 Middle Eastern countries.

Objectives: Clinical characteristics and trends in the outcome of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in patients with prior coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) are unclear. The aim of this study was to evaluate clinical characteristics, in-hospital treatment, and outcomes in patients presented with ACS with or without a history of prior CABG over 2 decades.
Methods: Data were derived from hospital-based study for collected data from 1991 through 2010 of patients hospitalized with ACS in Doha, Qatar.
