Introduction: Although the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the development of dyspnea and poor exercise tolerance in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients are complex, diaphragmatic dysfunction plays a significant role. The purpose of this study was to compare the diaphragm thicknesses and diaphragm excursion values measured by M-mode and B-mode ultrasonography with COPD patients and healthy volunteers and to evaluate the contribution of ultrasound use in determining disease severity in COPD.
Materials And Methods: Sixty-seven COPD patients and 53 healthy volunteers were included in the study.

Introduction: There is limited research about HBV reactivation (HBVr) due to direct-acting antivirals (DAA) for HCV and most are limited by short duration of follow-up, small sample size, and absence of baseline HBV DNA. We aimed to determine the incidence and clinical course of HBVr in HBsAg and/or anti-HBcIgG positive patients treated with DAA for HCV.
Methods: Seven centers retrospectively analyzed their database on HCV patients treated with DAA between 2015 and 2019.

Objective: The most widely accepted parameter in evaluating the quality of research presented at scientific congresses is the success of publishing that research in a peer-reviewed journal. There are limited data in the literature about the publishing rates of abstracts orally presented at national congresses of the Turkish Society of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation (TARD) in scientific journals. The aim of the present study was to investigate the literary contribution of oral presentations at the TARD Congresses (TARK) and to present proposals for future congresses with detailed evaluation of the literature.
