Objective: Total aortic arch replacement (TAR) necessitates hypothermic circulatory arrest (CA). The frozen elephant trunk technique (FET) additionally requires commercial hybrid grafts. Herein we describe a novel modified FET technique without CA using standard grafts thanks to left axillary artery (LAxA) cannulation in patients with acute type A aortic dissection.

Background: Diagnosis of early mycosis fungoides (eMF) is challenging and often delayed as many of its clinical and histopathologic features may mimic various benign inflammatory dermatoses (BIDs). The products of the thymocyte selection-associated high mobility group box (TOX), twist family BHLH transcription factor 1 (TWIST1), signal transducer and activator of transcription 4 (STAT4), and special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 1 (SATB1) genes function as transcription factors and are involved in the pathogenesis of MF.
Objectives: We aim to determine the diagnostic value of TOX, TWIST1, STAT4, and SATB1 protein expressions in eMF.

Background: Chronic urticaria (CU) is a systemic disorder which is characterized by recurrent wheals and/or angioedema lasting more than 6 weeks. Sex hormones have been suggested to play a role in CU pathogenesis, however, their clinical implications have not been adequately described in the literature.
Objective: To determine whether conditions that change sex hormone levels such as puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and menopause affect the course of CU.

Objective: Several studies in the literature have used contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging to investigate arachnoid granulations protruding into the cranial dural sinuses. The current study aimed to investigate the protrusion of arachnoid granulations into the superior sagittal sinus, transverse sinus, straight sinus, and confluence of sinuses and determine the frequency of brain herniation into giant arachnoid granulations using contrast-enhanced 3-dimensional T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging.
Materials And Methods: Images of 550 patients with intra-sinus arachnoid granulations who underwent contrast-enhanced 3-dimensional T1-weighted thin-slice magnetic resonance imaging were retrospectively re-evaluated.

Objective: Adductor canal block has been used for effective post-operative analgesia; however, the optimal location of adductor canal block placement is still controversial. We aimed to assess the opioid consumption and pain intensity in patients undergoing proximal, mid, and distal adductor canal block after knee arthroscopy.
Methods: A total of 90 patients who had undergone an arthroscopic knee surgery and proximal, mid, or distal adductor canal block for postoperative analgesia were examined.
Ethical principles have been considered, and in several respects regulated, along the entire blood procurement chain from donor motivation to transfusion to the patient. Consent of donors and voluntary non-remunerated donation are fields which have been addressed by codes of ethics and legislation. Caring for donor health is an area of further development of ethical standards.

Background: Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a common disease both in the pediatric and in the adult population. However, there are differences between the two patient populations with respect to etiological factors, comorbidities, and treatment responses. Our aim was to determine differences between pediatric and adult CSU in terms of clinical characteristics, laboratory parameters, comorbidities, response to treatment, and indicators of response.

Background: Guidelines recommend standard doses of antihistamines as first-line, and updosing of antihistamines as second-line treatment for the management of chronic urticaria (CU). However, remission rates with different types of first- and second-line treatments and indicators of antihistamine response are largely lacking in the literature.
Objectives: To examine response rates to first- and second-line treatments in CU, and to identify patient characteristics that can predict antihistamine treatment outcomes.

Background: Brain death has been accepted medically and legally as biological death. Nevertheless, it is a difficult concept for the public to understand, resulting in a reliance on online resources for clarity. When the information is inaccurate, misleading, or elusive, the internet could have adverse effects on the public's decision-making.

Histiocytoid Sweet syndrome (HSS) is an uncommon histologic variant of Sweet syndrome (SS). HSS can be distinguished from the classic SS with an infiltrate of histiocyte-like immature myeloid cells rather than dense neutrophilic infiltration, although the clinical features are similar. Previous studies have shown that the risk of hematologic malignancy is significantly higher in HSS compared with classic SS.

Study Objective: The application of regional anaesthesia techniques as a component of multimodal analgesia in knee arthroscopic surgeries increases the quality of postoperative analgesia. Adductor canal block (ACB) is an effective "motor sparing" analgesia technique used in knee surgeries. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of ACB using two different concentrations of local anaesthetic in terms of analgesic requirements and pain density in patients undergoing knee arthroscopy.
