Background: Positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) can overcome respiratory changes that occur during pneumoperitoneum application in laparoscopic procedures, but it can also increase intracranial pressure. We investigated PEEP vs. no PEEP application on ultrasound measurement of optic nerve sheath diameter (indirect measure of increased intracranial pressure) in laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Background And Objective: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is an increase of intracranial pressure without a known cause, which usually presented with headache. This study aimed to evaluate the changing diagnosis and management approaches of neurologists for IIH in light of recent data.

Methods: An online questionnaire about IIH was developed covering 28 questions, and five sections: demographic data, diagnosis, examination, treatment, and follow-up.

Aim: To evaluate the surgical outcomes of augmented medial rectus recession with non-absorbable 5.0 white braided polyester suture (Alcon Laboratories, Forth Worth, Texas, USA) loops in patients diagnosed with convergence excess esotropia. Methods: Clinical records of 21 patients with convergence excess esotropia who have been operated with symmetric medial rectus recessions augmented with non-absorbable suture loops were reviewed.

Changes in prefrontal cortex activation with exercise in knee osteoarthritis patients with chronic pain: An fNIRS study.

The role of exercise on pain modulatory mechanism of the prefrontal areas is not clear. We aimed to determine the effects of exercise on functional activity of the prefrontal cortex in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) with chronic pain and to assess the relationships between changes in clinical variables and cortical hemodynamics with exercise via functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). Fifteen patients with knee OA with chronic pain were included.

Purpose: Accurate restaging of the axilla after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is an important issue to ensure deescalating axillary surgery in patients with initial metastatic nodes. We aimed to present our results of targeted axillary biopsy (TAB) combined with sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) for axillary restaging after NAC.

Methods: In 64 breast cancer patients who underwent NAC, biopsy-proven positive nodes were marked with clips before NAC, and ultrasound-guided wire localization of clip-marked nodes was performed after NAC.
