Background: Evidence indicates that central sensitization (CS) plays a role in subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS). Reduced treatment response has been associated with pretreatment pain sensitization features, such as CSrelated symptoms.

Methods: Patients who received subacromial steroid injection were evaluated before the injection, at the first and third months.

This study was carried out to determine the relationship between the level of conscientious intelligence and human values among health workers. This study is a cross-sectional study using quantitative measures. A questionnaire constructed with scales whose validity and reliability were previously conducted was used.

Retinal Layer and Choroidal Changes in Deep and Scuba Divers: Evidence of Pachychoroid Spectrum-Like Findings.

Diving is an intense physical activity under hyperbaric and hyperoxic conditions. The aim of this study is to evaluate the long-term effects of diving on the thicknesses of retinal layers and retinal anatomy in professional deep and scuba divers. The study included 52 eyes of deep divers who dive to depths of more than 130 feet (ft), 49 eyes of scuba divers who dive up to 130 ft, and 66 eyes of the control group, consisting of nondiving but regularly exercising males.

We aimed to compare BC-NEFs (carcinoma of the breast with neuroendocrine features) with IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma) cases without neuroendocrine features in terms of the level of miRNA expression known to show the oncogenic (miR-21) and tumor-suppressor effects (miR-let7f) and the clinicopathological features.

Objective: Pregnancy causes physiological, hormonal, and hemodynamic changes that affect the aortic wall dimensions and elastic properties. Multiple pregnancies increase the risk of aortic enlargement and reduce aortic elasticity. The aortic stiffness index (ASI) and aortic velocity propagation (AVP) are markers of elasticity.

Congential nasolacrimal duct obstruction: investigating the role of systemic inflammation through novel biomakers.

Objective: Congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (CNLDO) is a common lacrimal system anomaly in newborns and infants. Introduction: Sarcopenia, characterized by progressive skeletal muscle loss, has emerged as a significant public health concern, with a global prevalence of 10-27%. While traditionally studied in geriatric populations, recent evidence indicates its impact on individuals aged 40 and above, with early manifestations of muscle decline. Primary care settings play a pivotal role in the early identification and management of sarcopenia, facilitating timely diagnosis and intervention.

Assessment of Lipoprotein (a) Levels in Patients with Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease: Single Center Experience from Türkiye.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the role of elevated lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] levels as a potential contributor to residual risk in individuals with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Considering that approximately 90% of Lp(a) levels are genetically determined and can vary regionally, we assessed Lp(a) levels in a cohort of ASCVD patients from the Turkish population, where data is currently limited.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of data and Lp(a) measurements collected from individuals diagnosed with ASCVD at a single center.

Evaluation of Long-Coronavirus Disease 2019 Cases Readmitted to Intensive Care Units Due to Acute Respiratory Failure: Point Prevalence Study.

Objective:  Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused morbidity and mortality worldwide. Besides the acute effects, subacute and long-term effects are defined as long-COVID causing morbidity. The intensive care unit (ICU) data of long-COVID-19 cases were evaluated with the participation of 11 centers.

The Predictive Utility of Circulating PCSK9 Levels on Diabetic Retinopathy Stage.

Purpose: To investigate the value of proprotein-converting subtilisin kexin type 9 (PCSK9) levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) patients with different stages of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and to compare these findings with a healthy control group without diabetes mellitus (DM).

Methods: A total of 135 patients, 100 of whom were patients with T2D and 35 of whom were in the health control group, were included in this prospective study. T2D patients were divided into three groups: the first group included 34 people with T2D without DR, the second group had 32 people with non-proliferative DR (NPDR), and the third group had 34 people with proliferative DR (PDR).

Background: This study investigates the gap in understanding the dynamics of recurring disease activity (RDA) in RRMS patients after fingolimod (FGL) treatment discontinuation. The aim is to investigate RDA in RRMS patients after stopping FGL, aiming to improve management and comprehension of disease progression post-treatment.

Methods: In this multicenter, retrospective study, data from 172 of 944 RRMS patients aged 18-55, across nine centers in Turkey, who discontinued FGL treatment, were analyzed.

Safety and efficiency of Wharton's Jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cell administration in patients with traumatic brain injury: First results of a phase I study.

Background: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is characterized by a disruption in the normal function of the brain due to an injury following a trauma, which can potentially cause severe physical, cognitive, and emotional impairment. Stem cell transplantation has evolved as a novel treatment modality in the management of TBI, as it has the potential to arrest the degeneration and promote regeneration of new cells in the brain. Wharton's Jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSCs) have recently shown beneficial effects in the functional recovery of neurological deficits.

Are micro-RNA 21 and 143 indicative as prognostic biomarkers in dedifferentiated endometrial adenocarcinoma?

Aim: Dedifferentiated endometrial adenocarcinoma (DEAC) is a rare, aggressive subtype, accounting for 2% of all endometrial cancers. Poor survival in DEAC prompts the need for effective treatment modalities through better prognostic classification. MicroRNAs (miRNA) have essential roles in tumor angiogenesis, which might enable their use as novel biomarkers.

Assessment of inflammatory parameters as predictive markers for malignancy in thyroid nodules: a study on the correlation with Bethesda classification.

Objective: The study aimed to assess the predictive significance of inflammatory parameters as potential markers for malignancy in individuals with thyroid nodules.

Method: Nine hundred and ninety-one patients with thyroid nodules who had undergone thyroid fine-needle aspiration biopsy were included and classified according to the Bethesda system. Neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) values obtained from hemogram parameters were determined for each patient.
