Generalized linear modeling of HCV infection among medical waste handlers in Sidama region, Ethiopia.

Background: There is limited evidence on prevalence and risk factors for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection among waste handlers in Sidama region, Ethiopia; however, this knowledge is necessary for effective prevention of HCV infection in the region.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among randomly selected waste collectors from October 2021 to 30 July 2022 in different public hospitals of Sidama region of Ethiopia. Serum samples were collected from participants and screened for anti-HCV using rapid immunochromatography assay.

The study design was an institutional-based comparative cross-sectional study conducted from November 4, 2021, to January 4, 2022.

Wastewater treatment in tropical, vertical up-flow constructed wetlands with selected macrophytes species: A preliminary analysis.

The aim of this study was to investigate the growth characteristics of different local macrophyte species (n = 7) capable of growing in untreated coffee wastewater, select the dominant species for use in mesocosms, to study the efficacy of three major species in three replications (3 x 3) in improving the physicochemical characteristics of coffee wet mill wastewater, and to assess the contribution of macrophyte biomass to nutrient sequestration in the constructed wetlands. The current study showed that can sustain water logging and partially saturated conditions. The conducted wetland experiments pointed out the feasibility of VUFCW technology in ameliorating the impurities in wet coffee processing mills wastewater.

Introduction: One of the key strategies to achieve the sustainable development goal by reducing maternal deaths below 70 per 100,000 is improving knowledge of obstetric danger signs (ODS). However, mothers' knowledge of ODS is low in general and very low in rural settings, regardless of local and national efforts in Ethiopia. SVM directed machine learning classifier for human action recognition network.

Understanding human behavior and human action recognition are both essential components of effective surveillance video analysis for the purpose of guaranteeing public safety. However, existing approaches such as three-dimensional convolutional neural networks (3D CNN) and two-stream neural networks (2SNN) have computational hurdles due to the significant parameterization they require. In this paper, we offer HARNet, a specialized lightweight residual 3D CNN that is built on directed acyclic graphs and was created expressly to handle these issues and achieve effective human action detection.
