Important concepts like fractal calculus and fractal analysis, the sum of squared residuals, and Aikaike's information criterion must be thoroughly understood in order to correctly fit cancer-related data using the proposed models. The fractal growth models employed in this work are classified in three main categories: Sigmoidal growth models (Logistic, Gompertz, and Richards models), Power Law growth model, and Exponential growth models (Exponential and Exponential-Lineal models)". We fitted the data, computed the sum of squared residuals, and determined Aikaike's information criteria using Matlab and the web tool WebPlotDigitizer.

COVID-19 caused an increase in the demand for medications, which led to an increase in pharmaceutical waste and there is no doubt that this contributes to environmental pollution. Hence, it became necessary to search for how to protect and improve the environment by encouraging the behavior of medication waste reduction. Accordingly, this study aims to investigate the factors affecting intentions to reduce medication waste.

Introduction: Several epidemiologic studies in humans have shown a relationship between pregestational obesity and congenital malformations in offsprings. However, there are no experimental evidence in animal models of obesity and pregnancy that reproduce the teratogenesis induced by this pathological condition.
Objective: To evaluate the effect of monosodium glutamate-induced obesity on embryonic development.

The development of effective vaccines against neglected diseases, especially those associated with poverty and social deprivation, is urgently needed. Modern vaccine technologies and a better understanding of the immune response have provided scientists with the tools for rational and safer design of subunit vaccines. Often, however, subunit vaccines do not elicit strong immune responses, highlighting the need to incorporate better adjuvants; this step therefore becomes a key factor for vaccine development.

Angiostrongylus cantonensis is a zoonotic pathogen that occasionally causes human angiostrongyliasis; its main clinical manifestation is eosinophilic meningitis. This report defines the concept of intrathecal activation of complement as evidence of intrathecal synthesis of major immunoglobulins during this disease. Details are presented of the activation of complement system components in cerebrospinal fluid, and their application to our understanding of this tropical disease, which is emerging in the Western hemisphere.

Eosinophilic meningitis is an emerging disease in western hemisphere produced by Angiostrongylus cantonensis. It was first reported in Cuba in 1981, later was spreading for the Caribbean basin and recently in Ecuador. Ecuadorians have typical intrathecal major immunoglobulins synthesis patterns that are different to Cuban ones.

Angiostrongylus cantonensis produces eosinophilic meningitis in humans and is endemic in Thailand, Taiwan, China, and the Caribbean region. During infection with this parasite, it is important to know if the complement system may be activated by the classical or lectin pathway. Cerebrospinal fluid and serum samples from 20 patients with meningitic angiostrongyliasis were used to quantify C4 levels and albumin.
