Introduction: The exposure to unsafe sound levels is considered a risk factor for developing noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). Personal listening devices (PLDs) represent a common source of recreational noise among young adults. First changes of NIHL could be detected at extended high frequencies (EHFs).

Splanchnic vein thrombosis (SVT) in pancreatic disease has a 20%-30% incidence rate, leading to increased mortality and complication rates. Therefore, the aim of this review is to summarize recent evidence about the incidence, risk factors, and management of pancreatic cancer, pancreatic cystic neoplasm-, and pancreatitis-related SVT. Doppler ultrasound should be the first imaging choice, followed by contrast-enhanced computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.

Background: Repetitive negative thinking (RNT) in major depressive disorder (MDD) involves persistent focus on negative self-related experiences. Resting-state fMRI shows that the functional connectivity (FC) between the insula and the superior temporal sulcus is critical to RNT intensity. This study examines how insular FC patterns differ between resting-state and RNT-induction in MDD and healthy participants (HC).

To people living with Alzheimer's Disease-Related Disorders (ADRD), timely and coordinated communication is essential between their informal caregivers and healthcare providers. In provider shortage areas, for example, the state of Nevada, telehealth can be an effective primary care delivery alternative to in-person visits. To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of telehealth visits for people living with ADRD in the state of Nevada, a decision-analytic Markov model was developed from healthcare system perspectives with a 10-year horizon/1-year cycle.

Introduction: Real-world data are required to provide a greater understanding of the impact of ofatumumab on the ability to mount an effective immune response following the receipt of approved COVID-19 vaccinations. This retrospective real-world analysis aimed to describe the humoral immune response to COVID-19 vaccination during ofatumumab treatment in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Methods: Data from patients with MS treated with ofatumumab who were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 infection were abstracted from medical charts at four clinical sites in the USA.

The imperative need for sensitive and precise tools is underscored in cancer diagnostics, with biomarkers playing a pivotal role in facilitating early detection and tumor diagnosis. Despite their classical pathological classification, testicular tumors lack valuable markers, emphasizing the necessity to identify and apply serum tumor markers in clinical management. Unfortunately, existing biomarkers exhibit limited sensitivities and specificities.

Chronic liver diseases (CLD) affect 1.5 billion patients worldwide, with dramatically increasing incidence in recent decades. It has been hypothesized that the chronic hyperinflammation associated with CLD may increase the risk of a more severe course of acute pancreatitis (AP).

Machine learning-based systems have become instrumental in augmenting global efforts to combat cervical cancer. A burgeoning area of research focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance the cervical screening process, primarily through the exhaustive examination of Pap smears, traditionally reliant on the meticulous and labor-intensive analysis conducted by specialized experts. Despite the existence of some comprehensive and readily accessible datasets, the field is presently constrained by the limited volume of publicly available images and smears.
Introduction: Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is a leading bariatric surgery globally. One-anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB), a modification of RYGB, ranks as the third most common bariatric procedure in Poland. While clinical trials show that OAGB outcomes are comparable to those of RYGB regarding weight loss, remission of comorbidities, and hormonal impact, there is limited data on long-term outcomes and complications.

Objectives: Neutrophils are the most common type of leukocyte in mammals and play an essential role in the innate immune system and anti-cancer responses. However, recent studies identified the presence of tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) as a poor prognostic factor. The present study investigated whether relationships exist between TANs and the clinicopathological factors and genetic status of breast cancer.

Background: Partial dopamine D receptor agonists are used for psychotic symptoms in adults with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Recently, interest surged for partial dopamine D receptor agonists in substance use disorders (SUDs). Since it is believed that SUDs decrease the efficacy of pharmacotherapy of underlying psychiatric disorders, we tested the efficacy of the partial D agonist brexpiprazole in patients with schizophrenia who were either comorbid with a SUD (SUD group) or not comorbid (non-SUD) to assess treatment response and the effect of brexpiprazole on substance craving in SUD.
