Background And Purpose: We aimed to determine sex differences for periprosthetic joint infections after primary arthroplasty of the hip, knee, ankle, and shoulder in osteoarthritis patients in an international perspective.
Methods: This is a multinational combined arthroplasty registry study. Each arthroplasty registry performed Cox-regression analysis of their data and reported the crude and adjusted hazard ratios (HR) with an a priori designed data form.

Despite best practice replacement therapy with corticosteroids, patients with adrenal insufficiency report diminished quality of life and face increased mortality and morbidity. Conventional formulations of hydrocortisone have short half-lives (about 90 minutes) requiring multiple dosing during the day. Extended-release hydrocortisone (ER-HC) formulations have since 2011 been available enabling once, sometimes twice daily dosing.

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) implantation in men with stress urinary incontinence post-radical prostatectomy and the complication burden with a focus on identifying potential risk factors for reoperation as well as determining the fate of revision surgeries.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of consecutive patients undergoing primary AUS (pAUS) and revision AUS (rAUS) implantation at a tertiary centre. Logistic regression was employed to identify risk factors for reoperation associated with non-mechanical failures.

Amid the advances in genomics, the availability of large reference panels of human haplotypes is key to account for human diversity within and across populations. However, mass spectrometry-based proteomics does not benefit from this information. To address this gap, we introduce ProHap, a Python-based tool that constructs protein sequence databases from phased genotypes of reference panels.

Study Question: How should premature/primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) be diagnosed and managed, based on the best available evidence from published literature?
Summary Answer: The current guideline provides 145 recommendations on symptoms, diagnosis, causation, sequelae and treatment of POI.
What Is Known Already: Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) presents a significant challenge to women's health, with far-reaching implications, both physically and emotionally. The potential implications include adverse effects on quality of life; fertility; and bone, cardiovascular and cognitive health.

Background: The Norwegian trauma plan was established in 2007 and renewed in 2017 defining national trauma team activation (TTA) criteria. Norwegian studies validating the performance of previous TTA protocols have found overtriage and undertriage to be out of line with the quality indicators set in the national trauma plan, but studies have not yet been published validating the new TTA protocol.
Material And Method: This was a registry study of a prospectively maintained database in the period from 01/01/2018 to 12/31/2020.

Objective: To evaluate the impact of coiling of the proximal end of the ureteral stent on stent-related symptoms (SRS) in in subgroup of patients undergoing preoperative ureteral stenting preceding flexible retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS).
Materials And Methods: We performed a prospective comparative study including patients undergoing stent placement 7-10 days prior to RIRS. Patients were divided into 2 groups; in Group 1 coiling of proximal end of the DJ was present, while in Group 2 coiling was absent.

Background: Alemtuzumab is approved in the European Union for treating highly active relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Patient-reported outcomes measure the treatment impact on quality of life (QoL), including fatigue, a common symptom in multiple sclerosis (MS). Chronic diseases like MS also affect the patient's caregiver.

Introduction: Norway faced the possibility of the most significant strain on its intensive care capacity in decades during the COVID-19 pandemic. All Regional Health Authorities in Norway were instructed to prepare for an increase in Intensive Care Units (ICU) capacity demands. To address the surge in demand for critical care, a gymnasium within Haukeland University Hospital premises was planned to be used as a 20-bed temporary ICU.

Background: In the CONPET study, multiple myeloma patients with abnormal 18FDG positron emission/computed tomography scan after upfront autologous stem cell transplantation were treated with four cycles of carfilzomib-lenalidomide-dexamethasone (KRd). Side effect registrations show that carfilzomib might cause dyspnea, cough, respiratory tract infections, and heart failure. The aims were to investigate patient-reported shortness of breath and dyspnea during KRd consolidation.

Background: To understand the impact of extrapulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB) and its treatment on quality of life, we analysed patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) among presumptive ETPB patients.
Methods: EuroQol's five-dimensional three-level (EQ-5D-3L) questionnaire and the Visual Analogue Scale (EQ-VAS) were used to measure PROMs by 274 presumptive EPTB patients at pre- and post-treatment stages. The patients were categorised as TB and non-TB by using a composite reference standard.
